ROF in SSD memory card

In some topic i had read that installing ROF in a SSD memory card improves performance of sim.Any one has notice of that?.And what kind of SSD memory card is needed for that?.I mean just installing into memory card and run??.Waiting replies.Salute

I understand but i nedd to Know if the installation should done in a memory card type SD or in a hard drive based in SSD technology.Waiting for reply….

SSD. Bender/Hellbender has one, maybe he can say something about it but it shouldn't really affect game performance at all, only loading times. And with the new smaller DF maps the game loads within a minute or so for me with a 7200rpm Samsung F1 HDD so, to me personally, the SSD seems a bit of an expensive gimmick.

But I am really cheap anyway :lol:

Yes, no doubt using one would reduce loading times to a fraction of what they are currently (especially in SP), but since there is little storage access during the game, overall performance isn't enhanced much by having one.

I haven't personally used one yet and have opted for the more traditional route of using a HDD. I have used a WD Raptor(VelociRaptor) in my last several builds and haven't had a skip or complaint.

If you go this route, please report back and let us know how you fare.

What if you are recording video as you play, wouldn't a SSD be of benefit there?
