Hey!

And another one, this time the fictional paintscheme for the Fokker Dr1. I have tried to stick to historical accuracy as far as the tail-coluring for Jasta 2 goes (b/w tail). The rest is personal colors and the personal insignia on the fuselage.

Here's the files link:

Nice looking skin Von Huetz…just one problem : the black and white tail-markings are the wrong way round, it should be black on the left and white on the right.

Not necessarily, the markings depended on the pilot for the most part of the dr1
s service time with J2 8-)

Everyone I've seen is white left black right.
Look at ingame Paul Baumer.
I've done a few Jasta 2's and they are this way from pics I've seen.
Nice skin by the way J2_vonHuetz.
Did you do Karl Bolle? I did this one up and was going to release it for just a download not for game polls.

In fact there's a few sources (colourplates) with differing sides, however left white, right black is more common, since most of the colourplates used are taken from Norman Franks and they are all pretty "one-sided" ;)

Nope, havent looked into that one so far, very nicely done! If you dont want to put it up for the vote, I can definately do it for you if you want, that one is a real must-have!

Just looked at my copy of 'Jasta Boelcke' and looking at the photographs in the center, it seems you are correct. There are photo's of the Jasta lined-up and it is apparent that there are examples of both in the line-up.

By the way, the illustration on the front of the book shows all with black left and white right including Baumer's DR1 so it seems this confusion isn't limited to myself lol.

I have voted 'yes'…very nice looking skin S!.

You're very welcome!
I was thinking about this white left, black left or is the other way. LOL!
Did you know that some of those old photos could have been developed reversed?
Something to think about.

That was why I mentioned that there were examples of both in the photos I looked at which proves that both configurations were used.

I think a lot of the confusion is probably related to the 'negative' problem.

@Von Huetz. I wasn't trying to pick holes in your skin, I was trying to help. I didn't realize the black/white tail thing wasn't standardized (or I don't understand the standardization lol).

Please note:

1. Inside your .txt file you have left the "<line break>" characters - these should be removed (they were just instructions to use a carriage return and put the other info on the next line).

Good luck!
