ACER SKIN
Just to give an hand I prepared a little tool for the excellent Pat CG
With this once a mission is generated, the system updates mission files in order to add aces skins!
At the moment in these few hours I built database only for Germans but I can confirm it works great

Here you are the link to download:
Link

Simply extract zip and customize your with your RoF Folder the file "conf.ini"
Then once a mission is generated click the main button to apply skins - all the skins are taken from the official skinpacks so you should not have any problem.

P.S.: I'm not responsible for any mission corruption - It is just a simple tool done it in few hours so if mission are important for you make a backup ;)

MEDALS
I enjoy very much medals and awards so I decided to review original awards for campaign generator, even if some little imprecisions in the chosen medals remains these I done are very historical accurate.

Attached File  CGmedals.jpg   382.01KB   5601 downloads

Link to download: http://www.ansirial.it/CGMedals.rar - just unpack in your RoF folder replacing old files, if you wish backup original ones!

Thanks all guys, I'm very glad is so appreciated…

More to come, atm non in download I've done a couple of jastas for DVa and a Pfalz jasta - also fixed elevator camos for jasta 10 and 11. I find some other jastas for DVa to do; once completed I will update download.

Soon I will upload template I done for DVa so can be useful to create your own skins.

I'm studying liveries for camels and spads too, they are very simple they could be ready soon…

P.S.: somebody knows distinctive colors for jasta 60? It appears very often but can't find documentation about

@Ansirial,

Unless I missed my understanding of the Campaign generator, these skins go where? in the data folder of the generator, or the data folder of rof?

Just asking…how do I get these to show up when using the capmaign generator. Do I unzip to the ROF data folder or the campaign generator dat folder?? Do they show up automatically when I select the mission, or do I have to select the skin myself..do the AI automatically use the correct skins too??

Just put the skins of each plane in the appropiate skin folder of RoF(NOT the Campaign Generater).Albatros skins in the skins/Albatros folder,Se.5a skins in the skins/Se,5a folder and so on.AI will then have individual skins, your flight and enemy/friendly.If you want a skin for yourself then pick a skin of your choice, rename it with your pilot´s name and put it in the skins/Albatros folder or skins/Se.5a or..

Generic German skins are coming! They are more difficult because historical researches, when doing the others are now in download I continued to search for documentation about Germans; even if many German skins are already in download, I think generic and historical accurate skins are missing! I can tell right now they will be divided in two packs like British, I am working on ;)

My main objective is now to cover the whole campaign generator squadron listing, next I probably I will focus my attention on particular skins like British SPADs (I like very much) or Belgian skins (A shame they are not playable) and why not Italians (my dream is italian front :) so I can fight just a couple of hours away from home  )

Very good bit of work!

Working hard on German skins, done 13 jastas, about 10 more jastas to do to finish DVa - completely revised from the original in download from this topic.

I'm creating a detailed template based both on my previous template and new one from devs to be able to create with few click any possible variant to a jasta: camo or lozenge, iron crosses or Baltic crosses…

About 50% of the work is on documentation, almost find every distinctive marking of jastas (also with the evolution in every single squadron)

Unfortunately at the moment I didn't find any exact documentation about jasta 9… I find some jastas expressly without distinctive markings but nothing about jasta 9.

Somebody can help me? Has somebody a clue?

Jasta 9 had Albatros D.V with natural fuselage with individual symbols of each pilot, lozenge rudder and grey engine cowling, light grey nose and wheel caps in 1917.

Albatros D.Va Black fuselage with individual symbols of each pilot, black wheel caps ,white nose and completely white tail in 1918.

Fokker D.VII black fuselage individual symbols of each pilot and black wheel caps , white nose and completely white tail.

All lozenge wings except Albatros D.V

As sometimes we ear "future is here!"
Albatros almost finished: 23 jastas at the moment.

Some other documentation lacks on other few jastas:

Jasta 1 - apparently no distinctive colors
Jasta 13 - ACCEPTABLE found green nose + blue fuselage but from summer 18 - don't know how was in 17
Jasta 15 - ACCEPTABLE but don't know how was before Berthold arrival
Jasta 19 - some not according profiles
Jasta 29 - ACCEPTABLE seems green fuselage and maybe yellow nose - not sure
Jasta 34b - ACCEPTABLE but only post summer 18 profile with silver tails - don't know how was in 17
Jasta 35b - Unknown pfalz
Jasta 58 - ACCEPTABLE seems white spinner + black nose and tail - quite sure but only few photos
Jasta 60 - on DVII checkered tail - no other infos
Jasta 61 - find only a single profile with no apparently unit markings

Sorry for capitals but just to distinguish acceptable from unknown
Now working on Pfalz DIII
Somebody can help?

Thanks DerMo! Your help is clarifying many doubtful jastas;

Probably Germans will be divided in 2 packs:
1. Before Spring 1918 - Pfalz DIII + Alb DVa + Dr1
2. After Spring 1918 - Pfalz DIII + Pfalz DXII + Alb DVa + Dr1 + DVII

This is done to match Campaign generator assignment and Spring 1918 markings change
At the moment in the packs are included only campaign generator required planes maybe in a second release, if this will be successful, more planes will be included.

Work for the first pack is almost finished, only 4 Dr1 to do; I think before weekend they will be completed! At the moment pack is composed by 45 skins!

I thought an interesting approach to improve historical accuracy and resolve any possible error I done in aircraft representation:

Before the upload to servers I will realize a screen with all the planes included on the first pack then I left a couple of days (or three ;) ) to receive your feedbacks about possible errors.

Hi all! Just added complete screen for first German skinpack, the pre Spring 18; in this pack, as planned are included Albatros DVa, Fokker Dr1 and Pfalz DIIIa for a total of 51 skins!

To avoid me any possible multiple upload, if you find some historical inaccuracy please report here.
Thanks! :D

Huh, it's quite difficult to look skins in details with only screenshots.
I've just found a very little error, on describing Jastas:
for example, if you write "Jasta 23b", b meaning bavarian, you can also for Jasta 40 use "Jasta 40s" (for Saxony) and Jasta 64w (for Würtemberg).
I told you, that was something minor! :D

Btw, thanks for your work! French Spad skins are awesome, we used them a lot in our coops!
Can't wait to put my hands on Bavarian Triplanes/Pfalz! :)

Fantastic!
I see you made some D.V and D.Va skins. This way we have some variety, good idea!
Had only time for a brief look so here are my suggestions:

Jasta 10:Albatros They had a black/white checkerboard on the wheel caps (2 white 2 black)

Jasta 27:Albatros Nose and band on the fuselage were yellow;band had a black anchor on each side of fuselage

Jasta 4: Fokker Dr.1 I think they didn´t use them before and during spring 1918

Jasta 5: Fokker Dr.1 had a red nose

Jasta 12: Fokker Dr.1 had a white engine cowling

Let me say ´Thank You ´for this fantastic effort!
When i´m back home next week i can give you more details about the other skins but what i´ve seen so far looks very very neat!Till then..

Yes I thought was better because DV is not available… So I considered DVa and DV the same.

Jasta 27:Albatros Nose and band on the fuselage were yellow;band had a black anchor on each side of fuselage

For Jasta 27 I find a picture with DVs with a white (or yellow) band with a progressive number inside and looking better discovered yesterday maybe chevrons on the horizontal stabilizers (don't know colors)…
No anchors except on Dr1, not anchor even on DVII. Do you have further details, pictures or detailed references?

Jasta 4: Fokker Dr.1 I think they didn´t use them before and during spring 1918

Unfortunately Campaign generator uses Dr1 in jasta 4 from January… So for sure I decided to include it.

Working on the others and many thanks for your help!

Indeed,Jasta 27 most probably had White/black markings,i always thought it is yellow black,at least it´s portrayed as such in an old book i have and also in the Red Baron skin data base and several pics i´ve seen but i found out it´s just the maschine of Lt.Klimke who has the anchor on the fuselage.
Jasta 27 has been known to the brits as ´Black&White squadron´with ring markings, whatever that means:
http://www.ww1aero.o.../JG3[1]1965.pdf">http://www.ww1aero.o...u/images/Journa … 5D1965.pdf
..so best to keep them black white ,like you did.
