German Sea Plane campaign, cant generate one

Hi all,

 

I cannot generate a Marine Flieger Korps campaign that uses my Brandenburg W12. I can generate a campaign that attaches me to fighter squadrons (by selecting Fighter as the role). Those squadrons (marine - feldjagstaffel I and II) dont use the Brandenburg. If I select Role: Sea Plane, there are no available squadrons. I have tried a number of different dates.

 

I own the plane and the map.

 

I cannot think of any more combinations of how to get in the air with the float plane. Not sure what Im not doing.

 

Any help appreciated.

 

Sample Configuration tried

 

Name: Me

Region: Saxony

Campaign Map: Channel

Campaign Start Date: 01/04/1918

Role: Sea Plane

Observer: Off

Rank: [Any]

Squadron = BLANK!

What version are you using?

Check you are selecting the right flag when you create the career. I'm not at my pc atm, but could check later.

I did test this worked on my rig when I checked my seaplane skins and it was fine in v16.3.1

Version 3.2.2 from here ( http://www.pwcampaig...web/PWCGRoF.php )

 

I actually cannot for the life of me find where to download version 16.x . I would like to give it a try.

 

Pretty sure Im selecting the correct flag.

I would advise using 16.3.1. It's not as flashy as V3, but it's the last stable version created purely for ROF. Later versions were made with the BOX engine in mind and that has some hefty performance hits for ROF.

I have made a full set of float plane skins that can be implemented in 16.3.1 but only 16.3.1 due to the nature of the text file inputs.

If you look in the PWCG section there's a version of v16 sloshing around there..

Thanks for making me think about the version.

 

I used this wonderful guide to find the in-skin mod version and installed it using JSGME. I can now create the campaign. Looks like ver 3.2.2 might be buggy. Hopefully this version of PWCG (which is marked as version 2.1.2) doesnt introduce other issues.

I'm afraid ALL versions of PWCG have issues and certainly the later versions have more polish. But 16.3.1 has become the favoured choice amongst players for the reasons I stated above.

Yep - it's no longer the "latest version" as the documentation/readme says, but it is the one most folks seem to have settled on as the best, most stable one for RoF.

Thank you for your kind words....if you need help getting things going feel free to shout out, there's plenty here that are grizzled old PWCG vets and would be happy to help out. It isn't exactly the most intuitive thing to use, but when you have it up and running and everything in the right order, you can have a lot of SP fun. 

 

I understand one of the old school modders has recently released some new tweaks that will go some way to improving the largely woeful AI that came with the default game. Barkhorn1x would be the guy to ask about it I think, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you did.
