Hallo everyone,

I'm trying to create some new maps with the mission editor for a multiplayer server for our squadron.

I'm currently working on a test map and it seems to be going quite well. But I want to test my map on this stage for a bit now, before I go further. So, I made a server in RoF, put the map in it and loaded the mission. But when I was loading the mission, suddenly RoF crashes and doesn't give me any error message or something. I did test the map in the editor and there were no Bugs or Failures.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

S!

-Ivo.

If you still have the problem, I would suggest running the map under DServer for which you will need to create another free account.   Earlier I saw your server listed although it was not connectable, but that's another issue.

Thank you for your reply Arty, a Dedicated Server might be the solution then.

But how do I create such a DServer account?  By contacting Customer Support?

PS: The server was not connectable probably because I was loading the map.

I tried to access it too, wouldn't load up.

I supect it may not be set up right at your end. It's a common result for server noobs - happened to me !

Check port-forwarding, firewall settings.. stuff like that.

Hi ZF, it was a LAN server so I wasn't expecting people to join. I only wanted to test my first map for a bit before I go further. (RoF crashes constantly when loading the map).

All you need is to start the game then click on 'Create New Account', for which you'll need a separate email address, easily obtained from any webmail provider.  Unlike IL-2 Sturmovik, you don't need to contact the company.

I created a new account yesterday on an old laptop with another E-Mail Adress, there I ran the LAN server on. But do you have to run 2 accounts on the same computer then?

No, but if you wish you may run both dserver and the game on the same machine simultaneously, albeit using separate accounts. Having said that, running the server on a separate machine is preferable.

Your port forwarding must be addressed to whatever machine is running the server.
