Today I tested the Hanriot (I have a better impression of it now than before), but good Lord! I lost my rudder four times in just half an hour. Together with the Nieuport 17, I think I had six or seven instances when I had to wave goodbye to my rudder, some of them with ghost shots coming from afar.

For some reason I though the Hanriot was not part of the rudder bug gang. Do they share the base FM/DM with the Nieuports?

We never talk about the N17 rudder anymore. It is an un topic.

Lets all PM Jason to see if we can get it fixed? That would be good.

The hinge is small, yes, weak? yes? Really? and how easy is it to shoot? Hard?

You shoot the rudder in the middle and after a while it falls off. WHY ???

Oh yes, high fidelity simulation!

If I shoot the top right non loaded part of the N17 wing when can I expect the rudder to fall off ? A  poll?

Shake my head.

Please it would be great if the rudder only ever fell off IF the hinge gets a direct hit and a good one!

Thanks.

Yes yes, but the N17 is really more important.

So if they fix the N17 ( highly unlikely ) they can fix the Hanriot! So that is a win win !

And what about the Hanriot loosing it's wings..... ???

Fix up the wings, ruder etc and let the land based one have twin MG's.

Is there any actual evidence that the Han fell to bits in the air ???

Honestly, I liked the Hanriot. It does climb like a rocket and is not a brick. I might have some fun with it, although I must admit that the N17 is way more fun and does not have the wings in your face if you are using the gun sight.

Have you tried the Han with floats?

It's 2 x Mg's means you peer down the gap in the middle.... and you can have the 11.43mm "canons" !

But still weak as weasels piss wings. Such a shame!

The darn thing looks quite modern too. All that tubular steel works. But....

off come the wings!

Rudder's always been this way. And I remember complains that Hanriot AI is mostly copied/pasted from N17 and does not know how to fly a Hanriot to full effect.

Looking over the top wing and using gap between wings as gunsight is the best way to get visibility I've found. Only downside is, wing blocks your target in lead pursuit and doing lead shooting in turn fight.

Yeah, looks like they share some things in common. I would not miss the rudder bug though. Pain in the ass.
