Ahoy.

I'm running ROF via Steam. It won't detect my joystick.

I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I have the manufacturer's software installed on my system. Running Windows 10.

I am starting the game with the joystick plugged in, and I've verified through the system, and the Logitech software that it's working.

I have the options set for joystick, not mouse.

When I go to map the controls, it won't register the joystick movement. I'm being very careful to not move the mouse and give a false input. I can see when that happens, so I clear and try again.

I tried resetting to the default controls, which have some joystick inputs set by default, but when I launch a mission, it still doesn't recognize any input form the joystick - flight controls, engine, guns, pilot look, nothing.

Help! :)

Uninstall the Logitech software.

Check in:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers

that the logitech stick is there.

right click, select "game controller settings";

Click "properties" and check everything works there.

You can also calibrate it there ... if you so desire.

Should be good to go in RoF.

I verified that the joystick is working through the system before posting this. I'm using another joystick now, and it's still not registering it.

Are you moving the Joystick ENOUGH?

( It only registers if you go all the way back then all the way forward. etc. or something.  )

Try this:

www.leobodnar.com/files/DIView.zip

Do you have the correct Direct X installed? ( I think it gets installed with the game anyway...)

Goto start, in the search window type DXdiag and a window will pop up with information on it.

You should have you stick in a list in there.

Good luck!

Exact same joytstick (L X3d pro)and problem for me.

The game starts and when I access options it is already set to joystick. Does not recognise when I try to map any movement from the controller however.

Does not recognise in game movements of the joystick despite being set to joystick it responds to mouse/keyboard inputs ine.

Windows recognises the controller is plugged in and the logitech software confirmed inputs when installed - seems fine

I don't have any other flight sims so I haven't tried it in any other games.
