Hello!

I am carrying on my investigations of skinning by a rank amateur ( me ) .

Soooo there are two models...

The one observed from the outside and one from the inside.

Or more like : there is a file that over paints the "skin file" and it's probably locked, encrypted and protected by a sign saying "beware of the leopard" ...

How cute.

I removed the "stupid head rest thing" on the Sopwith Camel  Dolphling only to discover this truth.

Blast!

Soooo where are the inside bits hidden?

I noted the MG's and some other bits are also over painted by this mysterious "other" file.

and here they are !

Attached File  ROF expanded special files.jpg   242.33KB   1 downloads

and fancy that: they are unable to be opened. Drat.

Blinking heck what a mare.

Not sure what you're talking about here - those files are of course openable (by PhotoShop or anything else that can open any other .dds files) - see below for one of them (sopdolphin_i.dds) opened up in PhotoShop and then saved back down as a .jpg file for posting here:

Ah ha. I had opened them with the wrong UN GTP .exe

May I present NO SMOKE TRAILS AND NO TRACERS !!!!

But turning off the tracers is proving to be a major PITA.

No matter what I do they refuse to die.

toI think when I use a DDS file to make a DDS file it goes wonky.

But it seemed to work for the bullet trails.... no idea why.

Blinking too bright. AND if you didnae have them you would actually have to GET CLOSE AnD BLOoMING AIM ...

Couple this with very narrow bullet spread you have a real challenge.

Not this hosing planes down at 1500m cobblers I have seen.

Even 50m could pose a problem. Ahem...

Why can I not fiddle the file and make the tracers disappear???

I found the file:

C:\Program Files (x86)\1C-777\(null)\graphics\textures\particles\flashshot.dds

But the game ignores my file and loads it's special un modded  one. It's vexing.

Have you tried edit it with Gimp2? Then you can just "paint" over the original graphics or use eraser to make it invisible.
