I don't know for DR1, but for SE5 i need a lot of rudder in the side i want to invert the plane.
And push the stick full forward during the manoeuvre, because the plane want to dive.
I mean for constant speed flight straight. And it does not really keep the straight line…and it loose speed too…so full throttle during the manoeuvre too :D

WW2 planes does not need rudder. Just roll full, the side you want. A lot easier ;)

I usually end upside-down when I'm landing….maybe that's the key for me and I just need to land inverted so I land right-side up :D

I should try that with the Camel

Forget the medal… what I need is some pain killers and a tissue. ;) See bloopers vid:

I think the biggest pain was all the time loading the sim over and over :D

Who originally made the medal for the "under the bridge" brigade?

Could they make a Duelist winner medal too (sorry Imp ;) ) and allow Vylsain to get hold of one.

BTW IMP, still not seen any video of your meet with Vylsain.

Hope this fits the bill Miggins, the number corresponds to the duels won, any photo editing software will sort that out, you do realise though it will bring the gunslinger out in pilots everyone will want a crack at the aces :lol:Attached File  Duelist_png.png   242.21KB   437 downloads

Thanks folks for the medal and the comments. I will put it in my sig when I get back from France (of all places – yes I am here measuring bridges ;)

Also I have another video to make that I think the Snarling Trolls will like… ;)

Cheers,

It's just as you had described it.

In sector 14 there is a town just south of Lille called Quesnoy-sur-Deule, whoever can land in the main street (pic proof required) wins the precise landing award, no damage to aircraft, you can use any aircraft in ROF.

…well almost. It's just North of Lille I think.

If I remember right the easiest way to get there is with the Dr-1 Free Flight mission. It's just 30 seconds away (at 8x) North-West of the take-off point.

Nice backstab again there jorri :P oscar doesn't actually qualify for first class though:

Ok next award, the precise landing award.

In sector 14 there is a town just south of Lille called Quesnoy-sur-Deule, whoever can land in the main street (pic proof required) wins the precise landing award, no damage to aircraft, you can use any aircraft in ROF.

I'll design the award, class 2 landing, class 1 take off from there as well, tall order good luck

Ive just caught up with this thread, and I've been trying that all this week (inverted under the bridge).. It's not easy! I got fed up having crashed 10 Tripes in a row! :(

Hats off to you! ;)

Now if you really want a "Mans" challenge - show us a video of that in the Pfalz D.XII :?

Ps.. I wish we could respawn in a current single player mission.. It'd make this kind of stuff so more interesting rather than reloading the whole thing from scratch - Has this been brought up before for future patches?

Yes, but I was talking about his flying performance.

The excellent music/sound effects bhind his video actually would warrant for a 1st class in my opinion :P

I also, tried to find the Main Street in Quesnoy-sur-Deule, but there doesn't seem to be one. Is it by the church? There is one clearly defined in the industrial park across the river.

Let's see… I found a youtube vid of some guy trying the landing challenge (didn't do too hot BTW, poor chap) and it does show the "main street" very clearly. So you can guide yourself using this guy's video.

Hmm… who is this user? Oh wait. That's you!

For the others: the street runs basically parallel to the river. The "entrance" is at the South end of town and runs right up the middle of the place until it dead ends near the church.

Well I didn't realize this was such a long thread, when I read it earlier this morning.

But I decided to give it a go, and had some fun.

I took these shots, I couldn't decide on a favorite so I'll just post the links to all.

I came to a halt at what you call the main street so your post is moot.

Either way, I don't know why this is a contest, we should both get what we deserve and not either of one, and a duel is not going to decide that, which I was going to win anyway ;)

OK OK 1st class for both (less graphic work for me) but come on Oscar are you gonna let Imp get away with that, personaly I would be so insulted by that I would demand satisfaction, but then again I dont want to cause any trouble he he.

To be accepted in the snarling Trolls you have to have a DRI and produce a video or a screen shot of you flying under a bridge.
Means nothing, unless you do it INVERTED!
:P

Here is my entry for the Snarling Trolls. Under the bridge, upside down, with thumb in the air. and one right side up (thumb in the air).

Cheers! ;)

I'm reading "Into the Blue" by Norman Macmillan and I've just read about a trick done by a flying instructor on Avro 504s which makes for a nice challenge.
He'd climb to 800 feet over the hangars and then cut the engine, gliding down in a turn to touch down on one wheel and then roll into his hangar. He could apparently come to a stop over the drip tray which was under his aircraft.
I've tried some variations on this and made a few expensive messes of some SE5As. But having seen oscarfox's tenacity I'm not going to give up until I've made some more.

I think by far Imp has a very impresive sig bar, if Imp don't mind and your not sure how to get it on your sig bar ask imp if you can use his crop, are you ok with that Imp?

My missus is hard to impress I asked her opinion of the medal and she said do one for yourself, I said I aint erned it, she said no one for the biggest p**ck on ROF who always gets shot down, watch the newspapers for murdered bint in Lancashire

Thanks Nooney for the wonderful medal! I crashed many Dr1s inot the river getting those pics. I am actually surprised the river still flows with all the debris I piled up under the bridge… I am honored to be considered in the company of oscarfox and the other KOTST's and will proudly display this award in my sig. :D
