I am still on holydays

anyways, would be nice if you could make the new ones with transparent background and at some point in the future small ones for a medal clasp once there are a range of them  In your free time of course, we don't want you to get fired ;)

Ok next award, the precise landing award.

In sector 14 there is a town just south of Lille called Quesnoy-sur-Deule, whoever can land in the main street (pic proof required) wins the precise landing award, no damage to aircraft, you can use any aircraft in ROF.

I'll design the award, class 2 landing, class 1 take off from there as well, tall order good luck

In case somebody is wondering a rematch is beeing arranged and I shall inform you guys here once it has taken place for those interested ;)

Now what do you guys think of the Order of the Trolls :P

It took place yesterday and Vylsain won fair and square, there will be another one though, was great fun. S!

Amazing flying there Squid, I knew you could pull it off. Now try landing in that village :P

Another thing: People that managed to fly under the bridge should start using the medal in their signature :)

That last one was so close, I thought it might be best to cut the engine.

You came closer than me, I hit the farm building on the end head on, you only clipped it, the first one had me giggling.

Take Off. Get airborne and heard north-north-west. Engage autolevel and time acceleration and in a few seconds you are right at the village.

Aye, it seems only the Dr.I is narrow enough to even fit between the houses. These planes seriously need brakes ;) Or a helicopter

Flying inverted in the DRI is quite easy except for one major problem….the engine loses power rapidly inverted and flying it stable and inverted is only possible for a few seconds in my experience so far. Can anyone confirm whether this is realistic…I remember seeing during the training mission something about inverted flight causing problems with petrol feed to the engine…my attempts at inverted flight were all attempted with 25% fuel load, maybe 100% fuel load might alleviate this problem somewhat?

i believe you can circumvent this by turning "egnine overflow" off in the aides but this is basically cheating imo

I think the only way to land in the village unscathed is to come in from the north and just clear the house roof to touch down in the street the speed will take you out the village but still counts go for it ;) closest touch down to the middle of the street top knight

You better start painting the first and second class of the precise landing award, I DID IT!!!!!!!11 :D :D :D :D :D Both landing and take off. I did not make it back to base because I had only taken 5% fuel but that was not a requirement   I'll fraps, encode and upload it and will edit this post once I have a URL.

Who originally made the medal for the "under the bridge" brigade?

Could they make a Duelist winner medal too (sorry Imp ;) ) and allow Vylsain to get hold of one.

BTW IMP, still not seen any video of your meet with Vylsain.

they cannot be revealed, it would compromise matters of national security!

Well actually the N17 one would be interesting I suppose, I just didn't feel like frapsing, encoding and uploading it yet, it would probably take 2-3 hours in total.

Then again I just spend the whole time since my earlier post in Sony Vegas adding sounds and music ;)

Looks like I'm gonna be busy medal making lol, sorry been off line for a while building a new computer, as you can see from this post everything is fine, except the occasional cooking cpu which is a bit disturbing.

Soon as I load all my programs I will look at the duelist medal and landing class I and II.

Had a better one later in the same flight, but the track is corrupted somehow.
I also tried to land on the other bridge east of it… at least I could touch down. On my second try I hit the bridge's border and crashed. Somehow my plane fell through the bridge into the river then

I even tried to taxi onto the bridge, but planes seem to ignore the ramp and just crash up sinking into it

well done! I suppose the higher speed also gave you more lift so you wouldn't drop into the water?

Forget the medal… what I need is some pain killers and a tissue. ;) See bloopers vid:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGZSY4GuZ4M

Yes the high entry speed is there so you have control of the plane after the inverted flight. Without that it's very hard to roll back upright without losing any altitude. You can afford to lose a few feet on the roll-in (if you plan for it), but after the bridge you have no room to spare. The hardest part was learning to roll on heading without losing much altitude. The bloopers vid gives an idea of the learning curve there… :| After that it was just a matter of luck before I slipped through.

Thanks for the comments!

I usually end upside-down when I'm landing….maybe that's the key for me and I just need to land inverted so I land right-side up :D
