We've done all that in the past ami, even had our own website, trouble is it becomes expensive and normally tend to end up paying for other people. Best thing is just to organise times and just mob onto a server wherever you see a troll

At which point you become the 'other people' for whom someone else is paying. I hope ST doesn't stand for Skinflint Tightwads.

Speaking as a disinterested party, it does not have to be expensive for a group to rent their own dedicated server, particularly if they avoid wasting money on a monthly Windows licence, by running a Linux-based OS with a Windows emulator. Better-yet if any member of your group has a high-speed internet connection, a far cheaper solution would be to have them host the server from home, perhaps running 24/7 on a redundant laptop. Such a machine would not even need to be one capable of running the game itself, just the server module whose memory and processor requirements are substantially lower.

I'm guy who knows nothing on the topic, but what kind of machine would it take to run a home ROF server for ~10 people with missions like NFF?  I thought it had to be a super ROF computer, but I don't even know what program it needs to run as a server.

Not much, the most important thing is as Arty said BANDWIDTH, the machine doesn't even need a video card.

Hey guys, remember me? Sorry I disappeared without notice, I was going through some issues. Now I am back, though not as frequently. For now I'll remove the ST tag from my badge, but I'd be glad if you accept me back on the squad. See you around

I am only nice to look at, but on the inside I am a terrible person. I am like these bulldogs with a melon hat and cigar. You're all like "aww isn't he cute? And he's smoking!", but you won't like me when I am licking my butt, dragging my anal glands across your carpet and salivating on your hush puppies
