Chaps.

So I don't recall when this started happening...

Maybe it was after the last update? Or was it when I moved from Freetrack to Opentrack.

Not sure.

So I can set a snap position. Great. Easy.

But for some reason some of the pilot head controls DO NOT WORK when trying to

set the actual pilot position and view.

IE.

I stop the tracker. ( my head is point fwd and the view is centred etc. )

I can now look up down left right and Zoom in out.

But not move left right up down back forth.

This has vexed me for a loooong time.

I used to be able to do all normal head controls when setting the pilot position etc.

Now I can't.

Is there some weird key which effects this???

I have looked high and low for something in the menu that might be doing this but... nothing yet.

Ideas???

I never pause my tracking or use keys.

Just hit 'save snap' anytime.

(small deadzone helps)

Dear ZF,

Lets say you want to sit back in your N17 GBR and look through the actual windscreen,

and this is your pilots natural position.

Before I could freeze tracking and then move my pilot around and then F10 and done.

But something has changed and this is no longer possible. What? and why?

I have used tracking to move my pilot around then F10 but this is marginal.

Most of the time I am not exactly in the right place.

Help?

This is where the deadzone helps. Keeps you steady through the sight also, not that you need any shooting help.

I think technically it's only the pilot head position you're moving, not the whole pilot !

Are you really pausing your tracking and fiddling with this in-flight ?

pfffffft.

I set my pilot up the way I like for what I happen to be doing.

And especially after a reinstall....

Deadzone? are you kidding???

But the thing is it USED TO WORK FINE.... then no workyworky...

Dang it!

I found it !!! : - )

Dang it. This only half works.  ( Frustrated.jpg )

If you press this new key then all your other Snaps get reset!!!!

Use at your own peril!

What changed ???? this is so weird.

( Options/controls/pilot head control/Head: snap center )

Assign this "snap" to a key.

Hold this key and adjust pilot position then press F10 to save.

This will be the resting position of your pilot !!!

Phew they was driving me crazy!

It's default is 5 on the numpad I'm pretty sure... For some reason my snap views (I only have one, for looking down the sights. You may call it cheating, I call it making life easier) reset almost everytime I get off and on the game.

It's very very frustrating. Especially when I forget before I take off. Then I'm mucking around with that while I'm being gunned down by some Spad.
