Like many others so it seems!

I bought the game many years ago on Steam, including a few aircraft. Recently i have come back to flight sims with a bit more spare time and new controllers and pc. On installing the game, i updated my password via the website, all's good so far, but when i try to sign in, i get a "licence key not activated" error message!

Help?

I'd try 'Update' on the splash screen.

That often fixes stuff like this.

I got the wrong email/password error when I tried to log in to the application itself (I can log into the website no problem).

I tried a password reset - still get the login error.

So I tried the update.  The game icon has changed, so something definitely updated.  I did a reboot.

But now if I try to run the application I get a new error message - "The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect".  From what I understand of the rest of the error message it is recommending I become a programmer in order to fix the problem :-)

I'm using an Alienware laptop, which I assume must be a fairly common option.

I am getting the same error message after I updated my machine from a Geforce GTX 570 SLI to a Geforce 2070 Super. I tried an uninstall and re-install with update, but get the same error message.

The "side by side" error usually indicates that there is a problem with the installation of the necessary Microsoft distributables - there are several threads around here indicating what needs to be done to fix this.  See this thread in particular:

Seriously needing help with this, I haven't found any answers anywhere, and I haven't had any responses to my ticket submitted about it.

Try downloading the Microsoft redistributable packages for 2005 and 2008
