All my attempts to fly a camel end in a left hand spin which I can not correct before ploughing into the ground any advice would be appreciated.

I use a simple trick: just drop the nose a little before starting a left turn. Watch your speed during the turn, if you're caught with low speed and nose up attitude during turn, be prepared for a spin.

thanks for all the replys the u tube videos are helpful. Reading the memoirs of a WW1 pilot it seems left hand spins were an ever present risk with a camel thanks to the rotary engine and they lost many a green pilot to it so the game is accurate in this respect. I`ll just have to keep practising

Best thing i've seen on this was the lecture by the late Javier Arango. I'll try to find and link. His findings dispel many of the myths.
Quick takeaway: Rudder first.
Javier's part starts at 19:58

Baer, thanks for the response and the link, very interesting, the more I see and read about this the greater my respect grows for those pilots. R.O.F. is turning for me from an entertaining little game to a real interest in the machines and the men with the courage to fly let alone fight in them.
