Can't create quick missions. Have read several threads from a couple of years ago and earlier stating that theirs can't work either. Haven't picked up ROF in years, but I believe even in 2013 the quick mission creator didn't work for me, and that was two computers ago, so it doesn't seem to be caused by hardware. Steam version doesn't have the "recovery" option to fix any bugs. Validated game and it restored two files, that seemed to do nothing. Can't easily jump to the non-steam version because of DLC.

Verifying game files keeps replacing the two files. I think this is the source of the problem.

I wonder if maybe the Steam version didn't pick up on the fact that the latest update added some twist about needing both the 2005 and 2008 versions of one of the Microsoft distributables?  There have been a few threads about that issue, such as this one:  https://riseofflight...use-rof-new-pc/

If that doesn't work, it might be interesting to D/L and install a second copy of RoF using the latest F2P version from the RoF website, update it, and see if the QMB works that way.  I know it won't help with your DLC but it might help determine whether it's a problem with your PC or with your Steam version.

Good luck!

Downloaded the version from ROF website, and it works fine after downloading the update. I also managed to get my DLC that I had from the Steam version (The English channel dlc) so it is possible to transfer the Steam DLC as long as you have an account tied to your steam version?

Glad that worked.  I guess maybe it is possible - as long as you don't try to mix content bought from Steam with content bought from the RoF store, it's probably fine to use your Steam content even though you run the game from the non-Steam copy of the game files.

I didn't mix any of the game files, all I did was log in with my ROF account on the non-steam copy and it transferred the DLC. There's no official statement on this being a feature?

There may well be, in some of the threads from a few years ago when the Steam thing was done.  I know there were some posts talking about how you can run the game from the RoF copy with Steam content (and also run the game through Steam with RoF content), but I'm not sure if there was any "official" word about it (I never use Steam for RoF so I didn't pay any attention to those details).

Ended up buying over half of the DLC for the game, it all works with the non-steam version. Odd.

I have also gone through the steam login issue and the main thing is that we need to verify the steam account first and then try to log in. The same issue has been happened with me and I have not done the verification.
