Hi gentlemen,

I startet a 1916 campaign in 3.3.2 as german fighter pilot but every mission I get the same error message:

Can't load object

 LuaScripts\WorldObjects\platoonde02.txt

I already had steam check gamefiles - didn't correct the error...

Sounds like you may be missing some of the mods that PWCG uses.  I'm away from my RoF PC so I can't check where that file came from, but there's a thread around here somewhere explaining what mods are used by PWCG, and you could also just go ahead and D/L all the related mods from this page:  https://riseofflight...-favorite-mods/

I can't find the real list, so I'm doing this from memory, but I think that the ones used by PWCG are probably the following:

Ground Objects Package #1 by SYN_Vander

Moving Soldiers_Package_2v4 (SYN_Vander)

Ships Package #1 v2.0 by SYN_Vander

Soldiers Package #1 v1 by SYN_Vander

Static Objects Package #1 by SYN_Vander

Static Planes ver.5.0 for 1.034 (lefuneste/ActionJoe)

Vehicles Package #1 by SYN_Vander

I suspect that the file you're missing is probably from the "Soldiers Package #1" mod, but can't say for sure.

I didn't know you needed any mods at all to play pwcg...

That was never mentioned in the how to's or on the web site - and that are a lot of mods... :)

Yeah - probably would have been nice if Pat had documented that aspect a little better, but we were generally so happy he was making PWCG available we weren't going to complain much about details like that.  In any event, all those mods are pretty small and pretty good so it's not really a big deal, IMHO.

Hmm - that's odd.  I got a chance to check and that missing file is contained in the Moving Soldiers_Package_2v4 (SYN_Vander) mod I listed above.  Not sure if Steam may be playing a role here (I never use Steam with RoF so I can't check it), but you may want to check and make sure that you activated that particular mod correctly.  Did you use JSGME for these mods?

FWIW I'm having the same problem with PWCG. Missing 'platoonde' 'platoonen,' etc. I have the 777 version of the game. Three different campaign attempts with the same "Can't load object" in each.

Both those files are contained in that mod I mentioned above (Moving Soldiers_Package_2v4 (SYN_Vander)) - have you checked to confirm that you unpacked and installed that mod successfully/correctly?  Do you have those files on your PC at this point?  If so, exactly where are they in your RoF install?

Rise of Flight\JSGME version 2.6.0\MODS\Moving Soldiers_Package_2v4 for JSGME\data\luascripts\worldobjects

Of course there's a good chance I put them in the wrong place. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yeah - that looks screwy.  I suspect something has gone wrong with your mod installation process.

There may be different ways of doing things that still work, so I'm not saying this is the only way, but here's what I would suggest as the correct way to do it:

1.  I'm not sure why there is a folder called "JSGME version 2.6.0" between the RoF folder and the MODS folder - the MODS folder should be directly in the RoF folder, and the main folder for the mod in question should be placed in the MODS folder, so it would look like this:  Rise of Flight\MODS\Moving Soldiers_Package_2v4 for JSGME.

2.  When activated by JSGME, it should put the files in question (platoonde02.txt, etc.) in the following places:  Rise of Flight\data\luascripts\worldobjects and Rise of Flight\data\graphics\vehicles\platoon.

Hope that helps.  Good luck!

Thanks for the info Panthercules. I "unscrewied" JSGME's location and placed it in ROF's root directory. I double checked all my settings and file locations to make sure they were in the locations you mentioned in #2. My root directory mirrored Czech's directory that he posted in another recent PCWG thread. Still unable to load the PCWG missions due to the missing objects. I also didn't get the PWCG GUI on the main game screen as shown by Gooseh, so I was running it outside of ROF.

I uninstalled ROF, and I'm currently redownloading it. Hopefully a fresh install is all that's needed. I had PCWG (not sure which version now) on my desktop, and everything ran fine. No idea what the problem is with this machine. The game looks and runs fine -- actually surprisingly great -- on my laptop, but I'm just having trouble with these mods.

Hmm - not having the GUI selection for PWCG show up in the game may be a function of that modd's file not being in the right place.  Unfortunately, Pat had a persistent problem of not setting up the mod's folders properly when he started including the GUI mod in with his D/L packages - not sure if he ever got it right before he largely switched attention over to BoX.

You can try using this mod package I created:  Attached File  PWCG GUI Mod for RoF 1.037.zip   924.44KB   3 downloads

Or you can just check your installation manually and make sure that the file "interface.gfx" is located in your "Rise of Flight\data\swf" folder.

Not sure why/whether that would have anything to do with the other issues you're having with the missing files, but one problem at a time.  Good luck!

PCWG works after the reinstall. I've run a couple Entente fighter missions and a Central attack mission with no loading problems. GUI's still not appearing, but the "interface.gfx" file is in the folder you referenced. That's certainly not a show stopper. I don't mind running it outside the game.

Not a complaint or anything, but at default configuration settings, one of the intercept missions brought my computer to its knees. The graphics seemed slow to start with, and when ~10 D.IIIs and a handful of SPADs showed up, the mission turned into a slideshow. I'll monkey around with the custom configurations and see what I can find on the forum to balance mission activity vs stress on my system. It's definitely a system limitation on my end and no knock on PCWG. Kind of a bummer though, because I enjoyed seeing all those planes in the air at once. A huge change from the RoF vanilla career missions.

Thanks again Panthercules!

Glad you got it working (and yeah, PWCG missions can put a strain on your PC at higher density settings, but at least there are ways to tone it down a bit if needed).

As for the GUI selection not showing up in game, are you sure that you have mods on ticked in your launcher settings?  If you don't, you won't see the gui option for PWCG in the game.

Doh! I forgot to tick that option after I reinstalled.

I just finished flying another Pup mission and got the "can't load...ships/1124.txt" error message. I "OK'd" through it about 5 times, and the mission flew fine. I read that others had reported the 1124 issue as well, but I haven't seen a fix for it. I have the ship mod loaded, but the error message continued after I applied the mod. I also didn't see a "1124.txt" in the directory.

That's an odd one - I don't have a 1124.txt file in my installation either,  Not sure what's up with that.
