Salute gentlemen!

For this 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day and the end of The Great War, we will run a special mission.

The map area is yet to be announced, but it will feature one of the historical maps with a rotating plane set.

In order to pay tribute and honor the various periods of the war, we will begin with an early 1916 plane set, then move forward through time, rotating and advancing the plane set every 30-45 min. We will move to late 1916, then on to early 1917, late 1917, early 1918, and finally late 1918 aircraft.

Objectives will not affect plane sets or number of airframes available.

We invite and encourage all to come out and commemorate this special anniversary, 100 years to the day of this historical date.  Let us never forget the brave, nameless faces that fought and struggled through this period of history and shaped much of the world around us today.

At the end of the map there will be an  "End of Hostilities"  message and all are welcome to form up for a massive commemorative formation flight.

Further details will be posted as available.

Excellent. Looking forward to it.

So we can plan accordingly, ...

  • Roughly, what time (incl. timezone) will things start?
  • And what time (incl. timezone) will things end? (i.e. when is the fly-past?)

... and hoping there be a seaplane of some sort at some point during the events, too.

S! Dietrich,

Mission will start at regular Sunday Vintage Mission time, 1800GMT

Things usually start to wind down about 2130-2200GMT so big formation flight around that time.

I'm sure we can find a seaplane or two  ;)

Many of our guys could not take part in the general flight, his time was for them too late. Therefore, we decided to fly a little earlier. Those who could fly more, visited the same Syndicate.

"Gathering his pilots around him on arrival he gave a pep talk, saying that they were equipped with the finest machine of all time and had three battle-experienced flight commanders. He expected every one of them to fight like hell and that it must never be said that any of them ever failed to go to the aid of a comrade, regardless of the cost, and that no patrol was ever to be late in taking off."
