PWCG Textures practical use?

There are zipped 40Gb of PWCG liveries available for download in case you want to use them.

 

I tried them with JSMGE and found that there was unnecessary exuberance of them on a precious SSD space, particularly if used with JSMGE.

 

However I would like to decorate my squadron in unique liveries so I could see who's who in my flight (lead, wingman) and/or just tell them from other squadrons in the area when not using labels. 

 

Could you share how you use these (or other) additional downloaded liveries in the gameplay if you use them at all, of course.

I'm away from my PC so can't check for the details (and it's been a while since I set it up so I've forgotten the details), but there is a way by using some sort of redirection links to actually store the skins on a secondary HDD rather than having them take up space on your SSD, if you're short of space on your SSD.  I think there may be a thread around here somewhere explaining how that works, but it may be easier just to google it since it's a general Windows capability that isn't limited to just things like PWCG or RoF or even games in general.

 

I use these skins whenever I fly with PWCG, and use JSGME to get them out of the loop when I play career mode, and it works great.

Hi ... Is there a link, or a place where one can find the way to install and use PWCG ? I can't find any such stuff. I don't know how to install it, how to implement the interface, where to put the skin files etc... Thanks

There are a number of threads covering these topics in the PWCG subsection of the forums - check here (especially the sticky/pinned threads):

The PWCG-related skin files are discussed here in particular:  https://riseofflight...aign-generator/

 

The skin files go in the same place all other RoF skins go (i.e., in the various Rise of Flight\data\graphics\Skins\<plane type> folders) - but if you use the JSGME-ready packages you can just put them in your MODS folder and then let JSGME put the files in the right places.
