I have an old .dll file named SoundEngine.dll from a zipped folder called "ROF V1.031 Engine Sound". I was wondering if anyone could give me a JSGME "path/folder name" to make the engine sound(s) file work. It unzipped as just a .dll file. Also, if anyone remembers the mod, what exactly does it do? Thanks for any information.

I don't recall that mod, but I might be able to tell you where it should go - will check and see.

[edit] I remember it now (and found it in some backups on my PC) - it was the old file from version 1.031 that was needed for playing old (pre-1.031) saved tracks after the 1.032 update.  I'm not sure whether tracks that old will even play at all in the current version (1.037). so I'm not sure how much good it would do to install the mod now.  But if you want to try, the file should go in the Rise of Flight\bin_game\release folder.

Thanks for the quick response to my post. I think I will just take your advice - "I'm not sure how much good it would do to install the mod now". Did anyone ever make an engine sound mod for ROF?

Not that I recall.  There was a lot of discussion a few years ago about how the sound engine works in RoF - most of which I didn't understand - but the bottom line seemed to be that it wouldn't be easy to do. Someone (whose name escapes me ATM) was said to have done something about a new sound mod, but apparently had some issue about actually releasing it.  The same drama played out on the BoX forums recently so you could probably find some posts over there with more details if you're interested.
