Mr Barkhorn,

I've had a fiddle with the bear and the tailplane, how does this suit?

Version 4 knocked it out of the park!  I flew it today online and made these images.  Really like how the cowling and trident-placement turned out.  Thank you.

I could not have done this.  I have good  computer user skills but don't have Photoshop and am not set up to do skins.  But let's say I acquire that software and capability; are the files you sent me something that can be manipulated from my end?   (In case, down the road, I think of something I want to add.)

Hi, glad you have what you wanted! Very nice she looks...

I can send you the .PSD (photoshop file) that you can fart around with to your heart's content, as long as you have photoshop...or Gimp, though I nothing about that.

Gooseh's latest DIII efforts.  I like both versions.  If you can please double the width of the black piping on the OAW tailed version and add that to the Jhonny tailed version we are good here.

Okay.  in ROF it is lighter than my 1:16 scale model; but then again, that blends in with the ROF background pretty well much of the time so I'm okay with it.

The darker green in FC1 is about like the model but we haven't changed anything so that seems to be a facet of how the FC1 program sees the ROF skin.  Don't know what to say or do about that.

Actually, the green FC1 skin with a lighter, flat gray cowling would be about right.

Here's an example I made in an old graphics program today.   This is not a skin but is about how the model looks.  Basically, what I had in mind.  And actually, when I look at it now, the cowl could be just a shade lighter.  As long as it looks like it's painted with flat paint and not reflective AMAP.

Actually, the leading edges of all three wings are that same neutral gray but I'm not able to render that in my graphics program.

I don't know how you could do it, Goose; make it look green in ROF and it's gonna look almost black in FC1, right?

Anyway, feel free to fiddle around with it all you like.  Muchly appreciated because I don't have a clue as to what we're doing here.   :icon_e_salute:

You can do that?  Wow!  Yeah, that sounds like it would be about right in ROF.

For some reason, the ROF skin comes through in FC1 looking like it has a dark blue-gray filter over it; even the white parts of the kreuz are dark gray.  On the shadow side of the plane, it's very dark; can't even hardly make out any details. No idea why.  A difference in the games?

I was wondering.  If you made a "washed out" version of the skin we're using now in ROF; by the time it got to FC1 would it look right in Flying Circus?  Is there some way to control the overall brightness and contrast of the image?

It's like the ROF becomes too dark with too much contrast in FC1.  Hmmmm....

Anytime this becomes too much work for you, just let me know.  I am happy to fly it the way it is but if we could get it dialed in like the model (or at least so the leading edges don't present such a distinct target to gunners) that would be fantastic.

I'll probably be flying it more in FC1 with VR than ROF.  My Oculus Rift arrives next week.

BTW: Since you mentioned painting the leading edges of the wings the same neutral gray as the cowling (thank you.  That is the way the model is painted; didn't mention it before.); the quadra-plane between the wheels could get that treatment, too.

Would adding spoke wheels be something easily done?  :icon_e_biggrin:

Yep, it can be done no problem. I'll have a go on it this afternoon...ROF skins do appear darker when used in FC so I'll lighten it up some..

Didn't see the wheel bit, I think probably not but the rest yes!

Cool, thanks.  I was vascillating about the spokes anyway.  She's a war bird living in the field.  Wheel covers are what she would have had.  Fine with me.  Thanks!

here ya go, 'Drew   :icon_e_salute:

On this pic of the model you can see the gray cowl and leading edges. The intent is to be indistinct to a gunner when faced head on with the sky behind me.

I was thinking of gray for the wheel covers and wheel struts but then again, by the time he gets that close, it doesn't matter much what color they are.

No wait!  Please make them gray!  I fly upside down a lot.   :icon_lol:

Thank you!

I've got the gaming computer set up and just flew online ROF in a closed server with mods on using the skin from the other day with the duller cowl and downward slanting trident. Game's up and working now,

Whenever you can send me that new skin, I can upload it to ROF and FC1 and have FR and screengrabs in no time.  I'll hang loose and leave this stuff running.   :icon_e_smile:

Sorry for the difficulty getting the files to open.  I'm almost 70, the zip program is new, and it wasn't easy for me to get it to work.  I did get it figured out, though.   :icon_e_smile:

Here's how #7 looks in ROFMP and #8 in FC1QM.

They look great, Goose.  Very happy.  Thank you for all your efforts.

No, those aren't imperfections in the cowl; they're bullet holes.   :icon_lol:

Looks good huh? And very different between the two, much shinier in FC, not sure the wheels should be glossy? Bullet holes are nice mind!
