Hello,

We have the best recording playback system you could ever want!

The RoF track recorder/player.

So....

How can we make a public library of track recordings?

( There are file hosts, but they may disappear taking the tracks with them. )

Can we upload them here?  I am not sure.

( That would be good as they would be permanent. )

Is there any possibility to edit the track? I.e lift out a short selection and save as a new track.

and then there would be some simple rules to help navigate through them.

Like some kind of description in the title etc.

Short track records of stunts etc and combat techniques would be really awesome.

Hmm...

I am pretty sure there are some really really good tracks out there that people

just don't have the time to video and edit etc.... simply write a description and up load it.

Ideas?

Salute!

Plank.

Hello ZF,

The idea is that we share tracks. But there is no common place to put 'em.

So far I have ascertained you can upload a 5 meg zip file to the forum.

and that's about as far as I got before the brandy and ginger snaps ran out.

( Ship them in in ammunition crates marked " Do not open by order etc ".)

um, so yes. apart from the normal "cloud" nonsense there seems there is little one can do .

Unless...

Someone has a BRILLIANT idea...

We could use some off world freelance file parking thingy. I suppose. could be worth it. maybe.

The idea of making youtube videos does not appeal. Slow PC old chap. and no amazing software.

Salute!

Yeah, my memories of uploading biggish files to ewetube are bad.

Maybe Arty could host on his website - he could record / edit / upload all the duels ?

The track library idea is a good one! :icon_e_salute: I know I would certainly use tracks for promo videos (with the owners’ permissions of course). All users would need to do is put the track files in Google Drive or Dropbox and then share the links to them here.

Why not ask a mod to add a pined topic in this section, and upload the zipped files there.

Hello!

Hmm. Dropbox could work. I guess we all have our own ones. I think the files will get deleted if not accessed for n months. which means they disappear. ...

Uploading here is ok IF your file is smaller than 5 meg. So we can't trim track files.... which is a bit of a problem.

I tried to split the files but the forum does not like the file extension for the parts.

and I am pretty sure no one will pin anything I start....

so we need a really good solution!

I guess we try dropbox.  ok maybe not. Looks waaaaay to commercial. and it's not free. Like free beer...

A damn TRACK EDITOR would solve  few things. Lift out the good bits and post here. with 5 meg limit.

oh well. Maybe someone has a brilliant idea.

Salute!
