I think this comes under the "skins" heading - almost literally :)

Which is the file that defines the pilot figure head in the cockpit?

I have a vague recollection (back when this game was new and I had time to be active - 2010?) that I was able to modify the pilot figure face graphic slightly.

Am I imagining that I was able to do this in RoF?

Thanks

Nope, you're not imagining it.  This was an early mod of mine - you can check out the thread here for details:

Enjoy!

Oh great! I thought I was losing my mind!

Thank you.

I've managed it most of the way, but before I proceed, let me ask you because it seems different:

The pilotg1_dds (and the others) are now in the folder graphics>texture>common

So, no problem; I found them! Great.

However, is the rest of the instructions from the old thread still valid?

i.e. does the modified pilotg1_.dds still go to a new folder: Rise of Flight\data\graphics\characters\pilot_g1\textures ?

and I assume Rise of Flight\data\graphics\characters\pilot_f1\textures for the other?

Thanks for the help.

I haven't messed with this for a long time, but I don't think anything about the file structure changed since then so the rest of the instructions as to where to put the files should still be OK.  And of course, you have to have "mods on" checked in order to see the new face(s) on the pilots.
