Hey guys,

So I need a new joystick.

Looking for something cheap.

Probably a max of $80 NZD (Just bought an expensive phone... that was a mistake)

Anyone know If this is any good? https://www.mightyap...-games/26852392

If anyone has suggestions, please tell me.

Salute!

Stumble.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is a cheap, decent stick with a twist-handle rudder (paramount for sims). 40U$ on Newegg and 60U$ on the website you linked.

Sure, wait a bit to see if someone has another suggestion. I still have the Force 3D Pro (the FFB version) and it is a nice / sturdy stick.

I would not live without one, especially for WWI. You get good responses for stalls, sustained turns and scissors. If I turn it off, I start spinning and dragging a lot with rotary planes (I might be just used to it). In terms of atmosphere, it is much better. But some people prefer to spend the extra money on a good precise stick, non FFB, to fly Spads and SE5as.

Sell your Granny, and get either a VKB or VIRPIL.

Stay away from the nasty plastic gimbal'd TM Warthog ;)

It is a shame they don't make any of those with FFB. I think the market only consider jets nowadays.

Thrustmaster T16000 has been a good reliable stick for the price. Mine has 6 years of pretty hard use, and still works fine.  :icon_e_wink:

I've had the Logitech. It was fine, but find the T16000 is definitely a step up and still good value. Hall Sensors! Though the twist is a pot, and a pretty rubbish one at that on mine.
Wish the main centering springs were weaker also.

Another quirk would be the light in the base. Since new, it will randomly stay lit at times, then stay off at times as well. Twist still seems fine on this one, and I find the springs are a bit loose. A matter of personal preference there. Still a decent stick for the price. I would stay away from the "Cyborg" Fly 5 I think it was called. Went through 3 factory replacements before I donated it to a nephew.

Haha, thats the stick I am currently using. The FLY 5 but it just broke recently. Well I think its more of a software thing but I can tell its not functioning as well as I would've wanted.

I've had it for about a year.

Love it!

The joystick itself is fairly good while it works. It has two throttle levers, and several buttons. Unfortunately some of the buttons break very easily, it's ridiculous. And mine just had to be replaced within the warranty period. Better sooner than later ;)

Thrustmaster T.16000M is THE budget stick, with very high precision and durability.

Ill alwys recommend MIcrosoft FFB2 as first choice for RoF, if you can find and afford it, though.

What was the question? - "is that just for the USB cord or for the whole joystick?"

An ms (native usb) force feedback 2 in 2nd hand under $50 would be a good catch I believe. Provided it works.

I've just recently replaced my Logitech 3D Pro with a T16000...I'd definitely say the T16000 feels like a fairly significant upgrade!

I've only owned the two flight sticks so I don't have the best knowledge on the subject, but going on feel alone the T16000 feels a lot 'lighter' to use, making it easier to control planes that like to pitch up, and it also seems to offer improved precision over the 3D Pro. I also noticed that typically 'difficult' planes to fly (such as the Sopwith Camel) suddenly felt easier to control after switching to the T16000.

That being said, both joysticks will get the job done!

Whats the difference between the

Thrustmaster VG T16000M FCS Joystick

and the

Thrustmaster T-16000M Flight Stick

Think the Thrustmaster VG T16000M FCS is the latest version and part of the Flight Control System (incl Hotas) which can be bought together as a package or separately.

As far as differences, not much. Little braille dots or detents on base buttons and orange trim/light instead of green.

My understanding nothing inside changed.

I have feeling joysticks are like a putter. At first, any putter will do because you basically can't putt anyway.

Right now, Thrustmaster Flight X stick works well. It has 12 buttons and a lever that can be used for throttle.

Yay!!! This arrived in the Mail today.

IMG_20180211_133431.jpg

I tried it out in game.

One word.  Great!

I messed around with the curves a bit too. It improves game play massively.

Anyway, Im just saying that I highly recommend this stick to anyone planning to buy a budget joystick. It is a big upgrade over my last one and i can already tell that my in game skill is gonna improve massively.

Thanks everyone for the input.
