I am downloading RoF on my computer obviously (The download has not finished yet as of this current moment). RoF will not show as an icon on my desktop. I have tried everything that I know of to make this happen, and I just can't figure it out. I really need some help.
Rise of Flight Downloading Problem

Welcome to RoF and the Forums!
It's too early for that. You need to wait until the D/L finishes, and then run the installer program - it will put a shortcut on there for you at the appropriate time.
The first time you run it after the game is installed, be sure to do an "update" from the launcher screen (and it's prudent to do a "recovery" from the launcher as well, just let it chack and make sure all the files came through OK).

YEah Im also having problems. It getting stuck at 2 gigs or having an INCREDIBLY SLOW DL rate.
More info. I get to 24% every time, no matter the browser, no matter the connection speed on my end. This has been the case for the last 3 days.

Sometimes the download rate is negotiated poorly and you get stuck on a slow speed. In those cases, I stop and restart the download.

If you are having problems with the official download server, you might want to try the alternate copy I've made available (link on the page below):
It has worked well for many folks who were choking on the official link.

If you really can't get the standard distribution of RoF, use steam as download platform. (NO WORRIES, you won't have to play it on steam. Just use steam cloud as faster mirror site ).
1. Get it here:
2. Once you get it, find the file
steam/steamapps/common/Rise of Flight 2.0/bin_game_/Release/Settings.exe
make shortcut and use it to launch the game. You can now forget the steam exists .
3. If an update ever comes to RoF fire steam up again to download updates faster.
