PWCG 3.3.2 Released

At the PWCG web site

 

PWCG 3.0 was mostly centered around BoX, adding Kuban and new planes.  It does have bug fixes and improvements that might be of interest to RoF players.  

 

I will be out of town for a couple of weeks.  Any issues, etc, please report them here and I will address them when I get back.  The initial release was centered on BoX but PWCG for RoF development will continue.

 

PWCG campaigns are not backwards compatible at this time, so you will have to start a new campaign.

 

PWCG 3.0.1

Fixed: Pilot always dead when plane crashes.

Fixed: RoF willl not create a mission.
Fixed: Invalid plane for loose skins for plane ju523mg4e.
Fixed: Mission file cleanup not happening.
Fixed: During campaign creation, transition from rank on previous step causes error.
Fixed: Moving wayponts on briefing map sometimes caused incorrect results.
Fixed: Raised attack MCU and lengthened run to prevent AI ground crashes.

PWCG 3.1.1
Added support for aircraft modifications along with payloads.  Modifications appear as check boxes in a new column on the briefing pilot selection chalkboard.
Added support for squadron override of aircraft roles.  This allows PWCG to offer dedicated ground support for some FW190 squarons as well as cannon armed Stuka in II./St.G.2.
Added support for initial selection of a payload to fit the mission.
Added support for AI flights to use a wider range of payloads.
Fixed plane selection issue.
 
PWCG 3.1.2
Improve enemy fighter limitations on ground attack.  No fighter escort on player ground attack missions.  Limit fighter missions based on player mission type and not squadron role.
Implemented staggered formation on runway for BoS
Fixed all mission times are 0830.
Fixed no skins in skin management screen
Fixed scrolling the AAR and typing journal entries is slow
Fixed no LA5 modifications are available.
SIxed Dallas and Kinkead on some dates are showing up as not being in the RNAS

Set roles by squadron instead of plane for greater flexibility.  Allow roles for a squadron to change over time.
Bug fixes:
Verified proper functioning of PWCG on startup and from UI modification.
Verified mission load and execution in several campaigns
Reduced and normalized waypoint speeds to help formations
Improved climb wps.  Climb into mission if far from front.
Rewrote target finding algorithm for fewer failures.
Fixed AAA not appearing along front and at installations
Fixed campaign property bug that caused all defaults to be copied over.
Fixed AI does not land when waypoint progression is broken

Wow ! I've been waiting for this one ...thank you so much Pat Wilson for your work, delivering so much fantastic enhancements since Rb3 WFP days ( still firing up Wfp2 every now and then) . I'll be testing excessively...Terrific !!!

thank you very much for this update.

Sadly this is the first time i cant run PWCG and i dont know why.

Got error message when try to create a mission.

I think i have done the same as in the last 6 or so PWCG versions.

Hello Patrick. Unfortunately PWCG 3.0 will not generate any mission for me. It is throwing the error code.

Yes, unfortunately it seems that I have encountered the same issue. This is quite a shame. I am sure it will all be fixed soon enough.

Anyone have a way to download the previous version for the time being?

16.3.1 is the latest that I have Sir. Hope that is the latest?

If you go on Pat Wilson's generator website, and go to the main site as opposed to the actual download page there is a list for the previous versions.

Hi Pat what are the improvements and changes for the V3

 

Not much in terms of new features from a RoF point of view.  Lots of code rewrites to improve quality now and going forward.  3.0 totally messed up mission generation for RoF - bad testing on my part.  It was a single line of code ... fixed in 3.0.1.

Those are indicators that PWCG is finding directories in skins that do not correspond to planes.  It is an information log only and does not impact the program.  I will get rid of that log as it seems that non-plane directories are common in the skins directory.  

 

Anyhow, that's not the issue.  Anything else?  At what point during mission creation does it fail?  What are the symptoms of the failure?  Squadron and date?  Some other error in the logs?  

 

Two possibilities are that it is related to mission type or plane type.  If I get the squadron and date I will probably be able to recreate and fix it.  Appreciate the patience.

Pat, I can confirm that PWCG 3.0.1 is creating missions. I let the AI fly the mission and all went well, including 2 kills, attacked balloon, circled maybe 3 times during attack and then carried on to next way point. The Ai landed just fine.

The GUI interface is not working. It is not showing up on the ROF main screen in online or offline mode. I tried using the gfx file from 3.0.1 and from 3.0 and neither one works. Your getting there! :icon_e_salute:

I'm sure you've probably checked this already, but are you sure you have mods on ticked?  The GUI mod doesn't work unless you do.

I'm sure you've probably checked this already, but are you sure you have mods on ticked?  The GUI mod doesn't work unless you do.

Thanks for reminding me, but yes Mods on  is in the top right corner. Still using your Scarf and streamer Mod. I hope maybe those can be imported into FC some day.

I tried 3.0 a week ago, and when I clicked on "create mission" I got an error message. I will give 3.1 a try!

3.0 was broken had an issue creating RoF missions

Everything seems to go fine in the PWCG during the process of selecting aspects of the mission to be created.   I hit the "Fly Mission" button and when I switch to RoF, it just sits there at the plane show room screen with the text box up "PWCG   Waiting for for the next mission...".

 

I double checked the error log.  It only shows what I listed before.  

 

It had been working fine before in 2.12.

I had changed the Folder name to ROF_PWCG. My bad.  ROF is not receiving the mission as this is the screen shown.

How do I make the GUI music work? it's set to "1" in the menu. Where do I need to paste all the music files? They are here now:

Edit - bug in the code but it should work if you put the files in is in C:\Games\Rise of Flight\PWCGCampaign\Audio and not C:\Games\Rise of Flight\PWCGCampaign\Data\Audio

 

When I split RoF and BoS there was no more "Data".  It was RoFData or BoSData.  Since music is common to both I move the Audio dir down one level.

Patrick, I just wanted to say that the missions which are being generated by starting in ROF main screen and using the PWCG Gui interface and creating a mission in your PWCG campaign are actually making it into the data/missions folder. IT is just once you are switched back over to the ROF screen that the mission never starts. I can go into Single Missions myself manually and fly the mission. You probably already know this??? Just FYI if you don't.

When I fly patrols, my flight climbs to 14k feet, then dives to 5k feet to engage a balloon. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Remove balloons from mission ;) Seriously I always was mad at them living mission objective like escort and trying to score that big fat ball of gas. No discipline at all ,what can be done ? Good question Sir .

Just installed 3.0.2 and I assume that it is not backwards compatible with 3.0.1?  I can open the test campaigns that I made in 3.0.1 however I can not accept a mission.  No worries though, just starting new test campaign, not going to start the Squadron Campaign in 3.0.2 until we get further along in the 2.1.2 campaign we already are well into.

Just reinstalled it 3 times and it won't even give a mission outside the game. 

Il2 works fine!

tended to set the allied escort mission odds to zero to ensure I was not given any due to those problems

Me too - see error log attached.  Everything seemed to go OK until I actually hit the accept mission button.

Managed to get the music working by updating/correcting the folder structure in the D/L package - not sure if you've addressed that yet as I used the one I D/L'ed a few days ago.

 

Also, when I ran a skin analysis it reported about 600 missing skins - when I looked at the report, it seemed that perhaps you have integrated the latest bunch of Gooseh's 2-seater skins - is that right?  If so, I'll grab them and get them added to the "one place for PWCG skins" thread.

 

[EDIT] I installed the 7th pack from your site, and sure enough those were all the "missing" skins.  But I noticed something funky has happened to get the packs on your site out of synch with the packs I have on the "one place" thread (you have 7 with the latest set of Gooseh's 2-seater skins, but I had 7 already before them).  I'm going to pull down my alternate links in that thread for now and just refer people over to your site, at least until I figure out what's gotten out of whack.

Did you click the "Fly mission" button first, without clicking on "accept mission" first?  I get the error message when clicking on "accept mission" and when clicking "Fly mission", so it never takes me back to RoF to try see what happens - basically the only choice at that point is to exit out of PWCG and then go exit out of RoF.
