Dear chaps.

Now i had this same problem on different hardware on a different game. but using the same router and ISP.

Symptoms:

Every ten or so seconds the game will micro pause. ( The screen freezes) then it carries on.

I have been looking at all my graphs for anything that seems to match up

and I found this curious thing that you just won't believe...

ahem. ( in just ten easy clicks you to can find out what...)

So my network adapter is getting a short blast of data ..... every ten seconds. in coming. For RoF.

It's the only thing that is regular. The spikes are about 2 to 3% adapter bandwidth. 100 Mbps ethernet.

( No I am not boiling my GPU CPU RAM or even the kettle. )

I do have RoF on the system SSD drive....

   waving now... HELP ! s.o.s ...

It does not happen in Single player.... no network needed right....

I use 25% cpu 30% gpu and a gig or so of spare ram. Temps all low.

So, the previous game was Arma2 and it did the same thing.

Have since upgraded to a slightly newer machine... still does it.

so to recap:

Micro pause every ten seconds

Network incoming data spikes every ten seconds.

Does not do this in SP.

Everything else is fine.

Will try a different router next...

any ideas?

Salute!

Plank.

Possible solutions.

Still not sure if this is a thing but:

Freetracks TIR dummy file was set to LOW priority in the process list.

Changed it to HIGH.

Changed RoF to REALTIME and FT to  EVEN MORE REAL TIME.

Moved RoF to a second drive.

Issue may have abated....

Tried to read the QoS service bit for my router.

Made my head hurt.

Does this actually work?

It's sunny outside so I might lay down in the driveway and try to catch some rays.

Salute!

Planky.

No that did not fix it.

Blast and damn and prancing everlasting balderdash.
