HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: My personal mount of the 187th Aero Night Pursuit Squadron. We formed on October 17th, 1917 with the Sopwith Camel from Nueports previously and later the Camel F.1 in March of 1918. I have a black cat over a red clover inscribed "Best of Luck" on my wheel discs. This was painted on because I shot down a Gotha with a dead engine in my machine due to ground fire back in May on 17 in a Neuport. I was literally gliding down. It was a direct hit to it's starboard engine and fuel tanks which caught fire burning the plane away over Calais, FRA. I later crashed near a church barely missing it and survived with minor injuries.
