Hi all,

I'm new in the headtrackers' world so I need some help.

I wanna buy an headtracker without spend 150 £ for a trackir. I found this alternative: Trackhat.

Is here anyone that uses or used it ?

Is it at the same level of trackir ? Which are the biggest difference ?

In addition of ps3 eye which hardware have I to buy together, trackhat or ir clip ? pro or normal version ?

Thanks for the answers,                                                                                                               Friggitotti

IMO. Trackir is the smoothest and best option.
All other headtracking does the job, just not as well.

EdTracker looks like a good cheaper alternative without the need of a camera. Otherwise a PSEYE camera and freetrack or similar is also a good solution.

Google Decan clip, you can buy a budget head tracking set up from him at a very reasonable price.

EDIT: Added a link. Know a few people now who have used this as an alternative to track IR.

Thought about picking up a track clip from him myself,  as the TIR clip is rubbish.

I've been using TrackHat with DCS World for awhile now and find it to be an awesome alternative to Trackir. About half the price (including clip or hat and a modified ps3 camera, available on website). A modified version of Opentrack is available on the website. The clip is rugged and would take some work to break, unlike the Trackir clip. I use the cip, but may order the hat so I can use it without my headphones. I,m very happy with this setup.
