Incredible looking update there.  Thanks for sharing Chief.  I have the base sim installed, I just need to take the time to figure out how to install the Team Fusion patches.  Once 5.0 is released I guess I will start looking for installation guides, etc.

Hey Hellshade, no need to search very far .. check posts 17 or 34 for installation guides link. When 5.0 comes out, I'm sure they'll update that page to reflect it.

Hey Graham,

I'm not sure if you're flying British or not. If you are, there's no problem starting in a Bf109 to get it figured out, then switch back. This info is based on the Bf109, so here's a couple of things:

There are good takeoff/landing videos by Ape and Falcon, but I also recently found some good stuff from a guy named Jochen Heiden. In his "Bf-109E-4 taxi, takeoff, climb, level-off" video, there is one thing that stands out right off the bat at 1:48, and that is this, although I haven't written it word for word: "Increase RPMs between 1000-1200 to begin taxiing. About 20-30% on the digital readout to break you away is enough and 10% to get you moving." He mentioned that the less throttle for taxiing, the better for control. If you're fishtailing all over the place, this will be your solution. CloD is not RoF where we go full power right away, drop the nose, then get airborne. I think that is what must be fooling and frustrating a lot of RoF players who are checking out CloD.

EDIT: Apologies regarding that last statement. I should add that it's because RoF spawns us on the field ready to go, whereas with CloD, you are required to get to the strip with the yellow boards first.

Jochen's other videos are good too, so check them out as well. Here's his playlist: https://www.youtube....qLDeiYZ33zqdgl1

Also, notice in the beginning, he starts swaying in the wind. Chocks in. When you're ready, Chocks out. I've read too that people have problems, because they're brakes are engaged. When ready, get those to zero. IIRC from some old post, you use pedals, so you can assign left and right brakes, but if no pedals, you can't. Only the brakes button should be set, and only tap it. Don't hold it down.

Next thing, there's no perceivable mission in offline that allows you to start on the ground, engine off, or "cold and dark" as I read someone putting it. You can go into the mission editor, open up the "Free Hunt" mission, add a waypoint before the starting waypoint,  locate it at an airfield, and for the plane with "player" checked, make it spawn parked. Change the briefing info with a new name and description, save it as "Takeoff practice", or whatever you want, then you should be good to go. If you do this for the British side in the same mission, then make sure you select that plane to have  "player" checked instead, of course.

That should give you peace and quiet to practice offline and get you airborne.

Good luck ..

Thank you Pioniere , think I might found the problem, my msffb stick just won't stiffen up on take off. so it just bounces the plane all over and hard to control.

last night I tried for over an hr trying to take off , was even on TS talking to the guys but it never clued into me what was happening until today. Clod doesn't play nice with ffb sticks.

Oh I have been flying or (trying to) spits and hurricanes.

Take the 'red' one then Graham !

Yeah you've just reminded me, finding the end of the runway was always a problem.

Often ended up tearing across the airfield on the rough stuff, patience run out.

or one of those patches that seem to throw your plane up side down and over again then to lose a gear. frustrating, just trying to find the run way is frustrating lol and what the hell are those white T things on the ground that seem to rip your plane apart .

Looks great, but the Spitfire Mk I looks out of place in North Africa.  They need a Mk V.

I wish I could fly more Cliffs but it has never worked correctly with the msffb2 joystick, and Kling said TF can't find the code that would fix it.

I may be mistaken but I believe they are working on that variant.

Your right , I changed my msffb2 to the extreme 3d pro or I'd never take off. there's no resistance on take off when using the msffb2.
