Ok so I have a 21"monitor running at 1680x1050, cant find a damn thing at far distances, Now if I get a large screen tv say at 45" at 1080 res does my field of vision get smaller but with a larger pixel. What do size screen do you guys find the best?

1680x1050 is a ratio of 16/10, 1920x1080 is 16/9. The field of view is almost the same.
To find thing at far distances, you need more resolution.

About TV: Don't forget to use the feature called "game mode" to reduce input lag by cutting down on various processing applied to the picture of the screen.

Ok thanks, so a 4k tv would give me better far distance of view , thought the pixels would be very small compared to less resolution ?

A 4k tv is four 1920x1080 screens. You need a BIG video card ($$$) to drive this resolution.
At that resolution, you have the eyes of an eagle.
The problem at that resolution is the text/chat are small. You need a big screen.

well who cares about the chat any way, most of the time its some one being toxic or whining about some thing.

I'm trying to figure out if it's better to have 3 monitors or a lg screen tv, which is cheaper . TV's are getting cheaper but like you said you need a big ass video card. I can get some good used monitors at a good price, need a better card any way.

Upping the res will need a bigger card regardless, whether it's 4k or multi monitor.

From my experience, going from 1080p on a 32" TV to 2560x1440 on a 32" Samsung Monitor to a Superwide monitor @ 3440x1440

My ability to spot the enemy has not improved, but that may just be me.

The experience is nicer though :)

In my experience, getting a larger screen does help me spot targets better. However, that may just be because my former screen was a 15.5" laptop screen. Hard to see anything on that little thing. Anyways, I recently upgraded to a 27" monitor with the same resolution (1080p) and man...it's amazing! Sure, it won't turn you into Hawkeye, but it definitely improved things for me.

The only thing I wouldn't be sure about in your case, would be going down in definition quality. 1080p works fine for me on a 27" monitor, but could look pretty pixelated on a 45" screen.

At the moment I'm using a 21" inch screen and don't have the best eye sight any longer. not bad but not great.

Simply put (no technical jargon here) the bigger the realestate (aka monitor) the better for older eye sight like ours.

This is the field of views you will get at:
1-1920x1080 (one monitor), ratio= 16/9
2- 3240x1920 (3 monitors in portrait mode), ratio= 27/16
3- 5790x1080 (3 monitors in landscape mode), ratio= 16/3

The vertical field of view (16/3) is too narrow. This is why i switched from the landscape mode to the portrait. Because, in a fight, you always look over the upper wing. But i can't get rid of the bezels (you can't see in the screenshots). Then, one big monitor is more suitable :icon_cool:
As you can see in the picture below (no, it's not me), 3 Asus 27" (VN279QL) give me 46" in diagonal. The equivalent of a 46" tv/monitor (without the bezels of course).

Seems you get a close up view more so in the portrait view than landscape as well as a taller view. the res on the tv is a bit less than the 3 monitors
