A couple of stray rounds from a Breguet 14 tail gunner or SPAD, and poof! Oil all over the goggles. Cut the engine, and glided down to my lines.
Well, I'll say one thing. It's taught me to be a real savvy combat pilot.
On another mission, I single handedly cut out of the sky, one by one, 4 out of 5 SPAD 13s. Still had 200 rounds per gun when finished.
Stalked them at height, picked out a straggler, force him to dive, get on his tail, 1 or 2 bursts, down he goes.
Gain altitude out of range of the others. Lather, rinse, repeat. Avoid the 5 on 1 fur ball. You're not that good. Not always, anyways.
