[Artillery mod] - mod release big guns

Hi all,

 

I wish all an happy new year.

 

It took time, but I can offer you this mod today including:

 

- Heavy guns train (french 305mm and 19cm, german 380mm)

- German SK/45 Langer max

- One single mission "Paris Kanonen"

- Skins of Spad 7 - Spa 62 (by Obelix) and Breguet 14 - BR 213 (By Actionjoe)

This mod implement:
 
* Railway Artillery
- French "Canon de 305 Mle 1906 sur affut truck a glissement Schneider" as "train_01" in mission editor
- French "Canon de 19 cm Mle 1870-93 sur affut "tout azimuth Schneider" as "train_02" in mission editor
- German canon 380mm "SKL/45 Eisenbahn und Bettungsschiessgerüst Bettung mit Eisenunterba" as "train_03" in mission editor
 
* Artillery
- British BL 6 inch Mark VII (not finished - Only on ALPHA stage)

For PWCG, i don't know but  i  think it's need to modify directly the automatic trigger. Maybe you can ask  to PatWilson here: http://riseofflight....andsbugs/page-9

 

For info, the substrate (texture of the base, town, etc..) are missing in previous version you need to download the v1.1, sorry  :icon_e_deadman:

So no use in PW-CG, no use in Career mode, no use in campaign mode, no use in mp, nor in free to flight, sorry but you are not telling this can only be used in a self made missions!!!!   :angry:

Same like Arras mod... 

So many great additions which would enhance playbality of this sim is forgotten because we can't use them in official game mode...

Genius i was trying to fly the Paris Kanonen mission in coop mode, i host the server my mate can join and spawn in plane but after introduction screen with Paris i'm fine and i'm back in my Spad but he always has RaF application has stop responding error when Paris screen appears. What can i do to make him be able to fly with me in coop mode? 
BTW he can run this mission fine in single mission mode.

The bug appear at the moment you return to cockpit ?

 

If yes, you need to modify this trigger near Paris:

Try to clear the "First object". If not work, try with other camera operator type (maybe "default") or suppress camera.

You need to delete the two translator camera operator + briefing p1/p2/p3 if you want to supress text.

Btw after Breguet did land and the truck move forward, i should wait for some message or just go back to aerodrome and finish mission?

After succeful breguet landing, a subtitle should be displayed asking player to land at base. On player landing, if succeed, you have subtitle debriefing + picture + french song.

Well, maybe its time somebody decided to run a mods-on server.  Special events using mods have worked in the past, but too bad the RoF MP server list splits the offerings, and hides the mods-on servers... 

You can only advertise so much to the community and get the word out about a mods-on server.  So many pilots will just show up rather than look on the forums for information such as a special server with mods. 

 

Imagine what we could do... B)

Well, maybe its time somebody decided to run a mods-on server.  Special events using mods have worked in the past, but too bad the RoF MP server list splits the offerings, and hides the mods-on servers... 

You can only advertise so much to the community and get the word out about a mods-on server.  So many pilots will just show up rather than look on the forums for information such as a special server with mods.

Why not start a new thread to generate interest, or resurrect the old one, at least I think there is an old thread on Mods-on servers.  I'll have a quick look.

 

There really is a quite a bit of potential for using new objects mods like this artillery.  Hopefully the defenders won't just camp over the target though... :rolleyes:

I think it is a good idea. It is a lots of work for mission maker to create a good mission, but it would be intresting. Maybe iven make a mini campainge just like blody april. It is a lots of work but i m surten pilots would be there.

And gr8 work on mod Genius. It is nice to see there is more man caring about our sim, and giving it more to enjoy.

Bet they could also do 160 hp Camel and it would sell.

Now, who used to argue for the 230 HP SPAD? 

 

They could make an alternative engine package, Bentley Camel BR 1 (at 150 HP BTW) and ...

I am afraid you'll need a BFP or a BFA. AFAIK these are not slated for future RoF release, although I suppose the Muromets may approach your spec needs.
