Hi,

I would like to know what this CD version does?
http://www.amazon.co...Y1XT7RYS4WBH2JN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co...se-Flight-Chann … RYS4WBH2JN

Is it a CD to install the Channel Campaign into your game or it's a CD to play the Channel Campaign?
If I have multiple profile on my game, do I need 2 license key for Channel campaign or it will be added to all my account?

Thank you

There was a thread and poster explaining what each version does, but I can't seem to find it. By the look of box, it is a non-steam RoF with licence for 10 planes and Channel map. Here is what I believe it does.

All non-steam versions of RoF do the same-install some obsolete version that updates itself automatically to full current version of RoF before you can play it. This version will include a CD key that will unlock 10 planes and channel map on free to play RoF account, or new account you just made.

If you have a RoF profile and have bought the planes for it (vie ICE box, or online store on RoF page) you will not be able to upgrade it with this version. If you have free to play account (just Albatros and SPAD, no payware planes added yet) you can use code from this box to add 8 extra planes and channel map. If you have multiple accounts you can only upgrade one of them. It is meant for new players rather than existing ones.

nic727 I believe that is the same Steam's Channel Battles Edition and can't be added to the regular ROF.

These guys sure know how to make the system confusing. I too purchased the boxed Channel Battles Edition and cannot access any purchased aircraft. In my online account it indicates that I do not have the channel battles edition, and in game it will not let me fly purchased aircraft. Why so many systems for the same game?

The non-steam game client is free,  *all* purchases in RoF unlock planes on your RoF player account. The RoF accounts can't normally be merged, too, without help of customer support.

All the "editions" of RoF are *starter* sets, that let you buy different pack of planes and set up new RoF account with them. Your boxed Channel Battles edition lets you do just that, there should be a CD-key in the box that lets you activate *new* RoF account with all these planes on it. They are not meant for existing customers, if you had a RoF account before, with *any* payware planes bought for it, you can't  activate it again with CBE CD-key. You can set up new account, activate it with CD-key and run them both, but it's not convenient ;).

If you are a new customer, make sure you've activated your account in CD key... if in doubt, log in with you account onto main RoF site (not forum) and try enterind CD-key here http://riseofflight....e/license-keys/

Therein lies the problem, whenever I try and activate my CD key from the box the website gives me an error and to contact customer support. I know these guys are getting inundated right now but its still a poor showing right off the bat. I love this game and the effort gone into it, but just getting into the air is proving a little tricky. I understand that these are not meant for "existing" customers, but it seems excessively complex and a little counter intuitive to establish multiple accounts for the same base product to use multiple peripherals within that base product.

Will not work or did not work?

The Channel Battles Edition is A STAND ALONE GAME, and must be installed in a different directory.

Last I checked, Channel Battles Edition for steam is steam only, download only stand alone game. Boxed Channel Battles Edition is regular F2P RoF with the same planes/map content that steam CBE.

But by all means, if you use the steam try activating your CD key there, as steam product key. If it works, you will get CD Key to activate account with when steam downloads its version of CBE.

If that is the case then after instillation of the CD a simple LOG IN ON LINE is all that is required.

Again, will not work. My CD key is neither recognised by steam nor the ROF website. I've done install after install after install, login after login, nothing has changed. That was the reason for my post. If it worked I would not be here :P

Customer support is the only way to go if your CD-key is not working.

I purchased a sealed ROF Channel battles edition.  I installed the game and logged in with my previous name and password.  I tried to activate the game's CD key but all I got was a notification to contact customer support.  I can use the planes from ROF Iron cross edition, but it is obvious that when I try to play the channel battles scenarios, I either don't have the plane or the map.  I asked 777 if they could verify that I have active CD keys for both ROF games, but they basically just wanted more details to understand the problem even though the question was simple enough.....I wanted to activate the channel battles game.  I emailed them the screen shots, so I am hoping they will get back with a fix.  Tech support is very slow in responding, but I am patient.  I like the ROF series, but I just want to get down to playing the channel battles and sink some U-boats.  Just waiting to see what tech support has to say.
