I own the Iron Cross Edition on DVD. When I buy the Channel Battles DVD, can I combine them and use both sets of planes?

Thanks in advance

We're talking about non-steam, boxed Channel Battles edition, right? You still shouldn't be able to combine them :( . But, Channel Battles DVD content is really Iron Cross DVD content + Channel Map + Felixstowe + Nieuport 17. And it has Pfalz D.XII instead of D.IIIa. So if you buy Channel DVD you'd be paying for content you mostly already have. You can just buy the things you're missing in RoF store and this will upgrade your Iron Cross licence to Cannel Battles level, it will functionally be the same thing. Channel Battles box stands at 45-50$ at Amazon, Channel Map and Felixstowe cost about 30$. Adding Nieuport and second Pfalz is another 13$ I think you can skip one or both of these. If you wait until sale in RoFstore, you can upgrade to Channel Battles level for 15-22$.

Unless you just want that physical box with Channel Battles game to put on the shelf - then, be prepared to have two separate RoF accounts, one with Iron Cross and one with Channel licence. If you don't play Beta career, your old Iron Cross account will become obsolete, except for Pfaltz D.IIIa.

My Problem is this, I want to gift Rise of Flight to someone who isnt really into the "Buy stuff online" or "Steam" things. So I want to give him the maximum amount of planes you can get by buying boxed store-editions of Rise of Flight. I thought buying him this and this:

http://www.amazon.co...=Rise of Flight" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.amazon.co...se-Flight-Chann … +of+Flight

Thanks. Thats very disappointing, that the content is spread over basically three editions.

It's not spread, Channel Battles covers 75% of Iron Cross.

Iron Cross content is:
Spad XIII,
Fokker D.VII,
Albatross D.Va,
Nieuport 28,
SE.5a,
Sopwith Camel,
Fokker Dr.1,
Pfalz D.IIIa,

while Channel Battles content is
Spad XIII,
Fokker D.VII,
Albatross D.Va,
Nieuport 28,
SE.5a,
Sopwith Camel,
Fokker Dr.1,
Pfalz D.XII,
Felixstowe,
Nieuport 17
Channel Map
.

Just get him Channel edition to have boxed content covered. He'll still need to make account, register the key to unlock the planes etc…
