This is a mod by Feathered_IV that I just found. The pictures below are self explanatory…it adds more of a textured look to the ground. Its not better, just different…you may like it or you may not. It works on both the main Western Front map and the Channel map and is JSGME ready.

Thought I would bring this to the attention of newer players who may not have seen this mod :S!:

Unfortunately, it can't be mixed with Fubar landscape mod…

Provides an interesting 'painterly' appearance (and yes, that is a word used in art history… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Painterliness )

I would assume it is not compatible with bump map mod from Ankor as well.

Fantastic, one for the download list. Thanks for the shots, Bucksnort.

Sure, Dave, just thought a bump would help others find it easier.

I'm running this with Ankor's bump map mod and so far no "gross" problems a few days into running it. Although a more critical eye may finds things I haven't found yet as the change is pretty dramatic. But so far, so good from what I can tell. I still see the river banks from Ankor's mod, but as I think about it this mod may overwrite other benefits of Ankor's mod. I'll let you graphic experts figure it out!

Thanks for the new word "Painterly" :)

I stopped using his landscape mods because of their appearance at low altitude and oblique angles, so I will give this a try.

Thanks bucksnort!

Sorry chaps, just noticed this thread with my detail.dds retexture. It will work fine with other landscape mods by Fubar and Ankor.
