Would like to suggest/request that the kind folks at NeoQb add 64 bit support for ROF so that it actually benifits from having a 64 bit OS.

Are there any games that use 64bit support yet? There probably are but I cant think of any that I play. It would be nice though for sure.

Yeah, Crysis comes 64 bit ready. FarCry had a patch or executable that you could download that would add this support. Sacred2, I think Unreal Tournament 2004 had a patch that used it as well. There are more I just cant think of which ones they are off the top of my head. AMD use to have a list of all the games and apps that was 64 bit ready, but I haven't been able to find it.

And what are the benefits?..

i`m using 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate and i got 64bit just so it would support my 6gb ram.

they already stated that ROF would never use more than 2GB of RAM….

AFAIR, It was stated for 32bit versions in discussion related to LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE flag in 32-bit executable on 64 bit systems.
However, there were no statements for 64bit executables.

Personaly, I don't like idea to keep this limit, but you've read rationale from Lefty.
In fact, RoF suffers from small memory available for data, 64 bit version will remove this problem. IMHO, there are no other siginficant for game benefits.

Well The big thing is what you just mentioned the use of more ram for one, but I am unsure of how it will affect ROF. See in a 32 bit OS it will only allow for 1 application to use up to 2Gb of memory and no more. With a 64 bit OS that limitation is lifted, and you get to use more memory. For example if I run Crysis in 32 bit mode it uses between 750-950 Mb of memory consistently, however when I run it in 64 bit mode those numbers are doubled and the game runs more smoothly. That makes me wonder how ROF would run if it had access to that extra memory.

Would be nice to have an option.

Yeah, with the abundance of 64 bit OS' out there I cant see why developers dont make it an option. In some cases like FarCry there were some very nice visual improvments that came with the 64 bit support, and with the advantadge of allowing an app to use more memory I can't see it as a bad thing.
