S! Moderators of this thread,

Please delete post 2 on page 3 the "Four Aces" squadron, as my squadron is no longer in effect and remove it from the squadron list as well.

Thanks,

Hello everybody,

Info about another virtual squadron populating the RoF sky:

Halcones Rojos

A well stablished spanish virtual squadron originally flying IL2 series sims and now others like Rise of Flight. We often fly Entente planes and Central Powers planes time to time. You will allways find friendship, teamwork and fun. We run our own TS server (spanish language)

P.S.: Si eres un piloto virtual buscando escuadrón no dejes de visitar nuestra web y pásate por la cantina.

Good day, Gentlemen.
Would you be so kind as to add a No. 48 Squadron, RFC please? We are an Allied ground attack Squadron flying primarily the Bristol F.2b F.III's. We accept pilots of all experience. New members will be trained accordingly by their assigned flight commanders. We are in need of experienced pilots and crack shot gunners. For every pilot, we must have a gunner. We're quite fresh in the making so we haven't an official site yet and our communications are a work in progress but they should both be up soon.
Requirements:
-Headset w/ mic
-Willingness to take orders
-A good flying spirit ;)
For anyone who is interested or has any questions feel free to contact me or my Squadron XO, Lt. No48_Runner, Recruiting officer. Thank you!
~S!~
-Capt. No48_MacMathuna
No. 48 Squadron, RFC.

So whats the problem? Choose name, squad emblem…make squad's Web site. Thats it. Nice move would be to run your own TS Server, though many squads use Central (Flyng Barans) TS Server. That's it.

Hello i wanted information on how you start a squadron ? I have about 10 guys from work and we want to form a squadron

Hi DWSTANG67,

First of all you'll need a place to hang out: a forum, or a message board, where you can talk to eachother, and also where people can contact you.

At http://www.proboards.com/ you can open a free message board.

Then, it's important to decide together what kind of squadron you want to be. Do you want to focus on flying planes from one country only? Or all factions (British, French and German)? Do you want to specialise on fighters together, or on bombers, or mix it up inside the squadron?

Then you'll need a name, of course. And a 'tag' that you can put in front of your ROF pilot profile, so people recognise you as being from that squadron.

For example, we are 'Les Hellequins', or tag is hq_, so I am hq_Jorri.

Next step: it's important to be able to communicate while flying. Or if you want to fly without voice-communications (because in WWI pilots didn't have it - a few squadrons fly this way, although most do use voice-comms while flying), you will still want to be able to communicate with microphones to coordinate with eachother before a flight, or just to quickly agree what server you want to fly on and what planes you take at which airfield.

So make sure everyone has a micrphone, and Teamspeak 3 installed. Then, you can join the Rise of Flight Teamspeak 3 server: ts3.riseofflight.net/en/. If you follow the link, you see the address and password at the top of the screen. You can join the channel of the server you are playing on, or perhaps you can even ask Vaal (who runs the TS3 server) if you can have your own squadron channel.

Those are the basics: Have your own place to talk to eachother (forum), decide what kind of squadron you want to be, come up with a name, and make sure you can use voice communications together.

After that, you can look further: making skins for your squadron, for example, or joining online events and tournaments together. Or challenging other squadrons for a match.

I hope this helps a bit, Good luck!

Hi, I am a 22 guy from France.

Absolutely fascinate by aviation, WW1 & 2 especialy , I played red baron at 6 and rb2 during adolescence… I have rof since 2009 but really play since a mounth and an hardware update. Career and SP aren't interest me, I don't know, I 've been played a lot of careers in RB2 but now I'am not in…Whatever, so i play online, I realy like the syndicate full realism server for exemple, some parties were great, with 50 or 60 pilots, but fly alone is limited and fly with groups is hard cause I ve dont have any informations about departures etc…

So I think I need to meet a squadron, I'm flying especially germans, very old habits… I don't know why!

Here is it, I really want to fly with guys and try to organise real missions, escort bombers, hunt in band etc, I begin to be great with the halberstadt too, but have some problems with gotha…

Hope to have answers from jastas to find partners for my Dr1! U can write me in private too!

Thank you for reading and sorry for my english!

Bye

Hi all,
I'm Polia, the leader of the team "Jasta 18"
The Jasta 18 fly with the historical German plane "Pfalz DIIIa, Albatros, Fokker Dr1, Fokker DVII"
The team fly in a realistic way, no radio, no comm, in team and tactic.
We like to reproduce the combat and the battles history of Jasta 18, "Passchendaele, Cambrai, Michael, Metz, St-Mihel …."
The virtual Jasta 18 counts 12 credit pilots end one serveur for 30 pilots.
We only play H vs H except for the training.
Against or with of the French-speaking TEAM but too with the international team
For exemple "Apocalypse campaign" the international campaign end the "Battle of Passchendaele" the french historical campaign.

The site
http://jasta18.fr/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://jasta18.fr/

Thanks
Best regards

Ps: Sorry for my bad English

Update on No. 48 Sqdn:
We have Six members, all of which who are realtively active. Some reorganization has been done recently and we have two branches of the Squadron. One (A Flight) commanded primarily by myself consisting primarily of Americans and Canadians and the other (B Flight) consisting primarily of Europeans and commanded by our XO, Lt. No48_Callahan. This is so that the Euros and the Yanks in different time zones can operate almost around the clock. We have established a forum if anyone is interested:
no48.freeforums.org/
and have a TS Server as well as a Facebook page, just for giggles. We primarily fly Bristols but also fly SE5a's, DH4's, and basically anything else we can get our mits on.

Hello all,
Could you please add The Fighting Irish Squadron to your list
http://www.fighting-irish.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.fighting-irish.org/

We are not a strict military operation like other squads. All we promote is a sense of belonging, a sense of order, and an appreciation for good beer, company and music.
Recruits to FI squadron need only one thing:
to be Irish, have Irish roots, or just feel sorta Irish, if you know what I mean …
We stand for fun, freedom and the liberty to fly as and when we like. The only rule we have is that there are no rules. Fly for fun, be courteous and help your squadmates. We fly at Hyperlobby most nights under the :FI: or the =FI= standard.
We welcome Иnewbies’ and can offer some basic dogfighting and COOP mission advice if required. Remember, everyone was a beginner once – even the online aces that flame you on a regular basis. So don’t be discouraged. If you want to join us, simply use the Off-Topic section in our FIS forum stating why you want to fly with the Fightin’ Irish Squadron.

So with a name like MacMathuna and the fact that I'll have: Erin Go Bragh, a harp, and a Claddagh on my Biff here pretty soon would mean I'd fit in?

New squad, the RAF25 aka The Fighting 25th! We are an English speaking, mainly North American based squad founded by long time members of the RB3D community. We only fly ROF now, and have made the transition to this sim quite smoothly. We can help former RB3D members move to ROF in an easy manner, with all the advice you need. We believe in structure and order, but never at the expense of just having fun! We also offer a TS3 server, and a private practice server on a T3 connection.

Suggesion: get a real website. Doesn't cost much, from ~10 a year using free hosting services and paying for the domain name only. I pay ~15 a month for a fairly good service. Usually that's more than enough for a virtual squadron. To set up a forum, just get PHPbb and drop it into the directory where you want the forums (e.g yourname.com/forums) or straight into the root dir if you want the forum to be your front page.

The Skeleton Crew Squadron. Flying in action in almost every Combat flying sim available in the western world since 1997.

We were flying when pixels were cool!

Borne from Simguild's "Flying Circus" WW1 Sim and in combat in WW1 and WW2 theatres with a prefered preference for WW1.
The SC are an active Squadron with mature aged pilots (40+) who still think they are 18 years of age when it comes to having a good time.

Australian, US, and Canadian pilots with a couple of closely associated UK pilots who are considered honourary members until they see sense and actually sign up. (You know who you are :) )

Our motto: "Fly with Honour"

Feel free to visit us on our forums. S!

European Airforce - Since 1998

The European Air force is a group of over 40 players from all over Europe. We are divided into several Virtual Squadrons:

19 Squadron (UK)
92 Squadron (UK)
310 Squadron (Czech/German)
322 Squadron (Belgian/Dutch)
331 Squadron (Norwegian/Scandinavian)
602 Squadron (Scottish)
51° Stormo (Italian)

We are active in IL2, Cliifs of Dover and of course Rise of Flight :)

In rise of flight we all fly under the WW1EAF pilot tag with a few of us on the RoF beta team.

If you are interested in multi-sim flying or just Rise of Flight please contact me via PM or drop by our site http://europeanaf.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://europeanaf.net

Blacksheep Squadron (BSS) http://www.bss214.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bss214.com/

members world-wide, est.1998, all members are over 40 years old

Rise of Flight since March 2011

We favor carrier aviation during WWII but really enjoy RoF untill the next generation of WWII sim successfuly comes out. Members also enjoy IL2, DCS A-10C, DCS P-51D, FSX, and Lock On Modern Air Combat.

We fly as a team using authentic air combat tactics, and try to "Engage only when we can win" - which makes us unpopular with others sometimes. ;-)
