1st Aerial Battalion (AB1)

We are now looking for new members. We have our own T1 based practice ROF server, TS3 coms, and an international flavour! I have trained myself to create dogfight missions from scratch using ME so far, and will advance. We still fly RB3D sometimes, and a few of us like IL2. We would however, like a trained, powerhouse of a squad for ROF. If you think you could help us build our squad to it's once glory, please pm me, or visit our website at: http://rnas.hostei.c...orums/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://rnas.hostei.c...orums/index.php If this is the wrong place for this mods, please move it to appropriate area, my XO made me do it!

S! all,
The US95th Aero Squadron is one of the oldest, continually active Allied squadrons in the Red Baron community (12+ years).
We are restructuring now to expand to Rise of Flight and welcome any pilots who are interested in joining our squadron.

We have two dedicated servers; one is a dogfight server now running and set up for new players while they learn Rise of Flight.
A second server will be activated later for tournament play. We also have a dedicated TeamSpeak2 server.

Come visit us at our US95th website and at our US95th Forum

Cry Havoc was originally being set up for members of the EAF to play in RoF as WWI pilots.
Cry Havoc is no longer active, we are now using the online tag WW1EAF as part of the European Air Force

The EAF used to only support IL2. The EAF has now moved on and we fully support RoF.

The Lone Wulffe Squadron is now reorganized and operational once again. Originally formed in 1998 for Red Baron II and Red Baron 3D, we are now flying Rise of Flight and happy to rejoin old comrades such as the Wing Walkers, Jagdgeschwader 1, and all the other great squads we have flown with and against. We also look forward to meeting new comrades-in-arms in the virtual skies.

We are a European-based squadron, and as such primarily fly at times which best fit in with European time zones. Wednesday and Sunday 8pm UK Local.

We welcome all applicants from outside Europe, but please try to ensure that this will not prevent you from flying with the squadron.

Experience is not an issue, we welcome everyone from Novice to the highly trained. We can help you if you are new to Air Combat. Age is not important either providing you have a mature approach, a sense of camaraderie and of course, a sense of humour!

Welcome to the home of the "Firebirds" - 56 (Fighter) Squadron RAF (Virtual)
http://firebirds.2ndtaf.org.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://firebirds.2ndtaf.org.uk/
A Squadron that is part of the Virtual skies of the WWW Virtual Air Combat community, formerly flying in Aces High and now operational in IL2 Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters.

We are proud of our aviation heritage and adopted the 56 Squadron RAF identity for our 'virtual' world.

If you are looking for the RAF's real 56 Squadron website you will find it here:-

http://www.raf.mod.u.../56squadron.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.raf.mod.u.../56squadron.cfm

No 56 (Virtual) Squadron is one of the internet's longest running online virtual squadrons. Over the years we have participated in many of the best known online flight simulations and have always placed a heavy emphasis on World War II simulations. Our members have flown in Air Warrior (the original on-line air combat simulation), Warbirds, Aces High and now you will find us in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 by 1C Maddox. At sometime in the future you will also find us in the upcoming Storm of War,/Cliffs of Dover also by 1C Maddox.

Camaraderie was undoubtedly a byword of the real 56 Squadron. We try to keep that spirit alive through team work and friendship. As well as meeting online, we arrange to meet personally as often as possible.

Most squadron members are based in the United Kingdom, however we welcome friends from all over the world. Although we fly for fun, we always strive to remember the sacrifice made by those who gave their lives so that the world may be a better place

Newbie server is for… noobs (no sh**, Sherlock?)
Join a squad (like, for instance, ours) and fly on hard settings like most of us do… hell, it's still a lot easier than it was for those guys IRL. Just think, no cold air, no castor oil sprayed all over your face (with the post-flight consequences that you can imagine… especially after an encounter with the enemy), all engines are always perfectly tuned, ground crews never make a mistake, weather never surprises you… I guess I could keep going if I tried a bit harder, that's just what comes right off the top of my head.

Don't think 'im a noob so I should fly on noob servers', that will get you used with icons and other arcade settings, then it'll be hard to switch to a more realistic way of playing the game. We have one great advantage (besides the ones listed above), we can respawn. We can learn from our mistakes. RL pilots couldnt do that because they would be dead by the time they realized they made a mistake

Hi Flakbird,

Keep flying Newbee server to gain some experience then perhaps check the Fast food server as well.
You will find that most squads only fly on the servers with realistic settings, meaning no Icons & engine management. Try out a couple of these servers (Syndicate, Hellequins etc.)and if you can join the ppl on ventrilo or teamspeak so you can talk to the others. Usually someone will help you out with your first sorties on "full real". Flying together on these servers is highly recommended, I almost never fly alone there.

Well, I'm younger than about 98% of you guys. I don't think I'm ready for full realism settings yet. Maybe in about 5 years. :P

That has nothing to do with age, but with… spirit. As in the spirit of the game.
If you consider RoF a game like Call of Duty etc, then it's OK to use whatever settings you're most comfortable with. On the other hand, if you consider RoF not just a game but a flight simulator, then there is only one possible way to play it: full real.
Anyways, we're going off topics. You're looking for a squad, most squads are looking for new pilots and if you don't have experience they'll teach you all they know. So, just join squadrons' TS and start flying with them, a bit here and there, without officially joining anything. After flying on line as a guest with several squadrons for a while, you'll probably know which one you want to join as a member.

I was going to update the 'ad' posted a few messages ago then I decided to completely remove it and post the new version as a new message. I know I'm being a bit too aggressive, sorry about that. The problem is that no new members joined our squadron in months, and we could really use a few pilots, so here's the 'ad', along with the promise of less aggressive recruitment in the future

Vultures Row (_VR_)

~S~ Everyone!

We would like to announce that ROF and IL2 Cliffs of Dover squadron Fighter and Bomber group 'Vultures Row' is recruiting new pilots. You do not have to have flight experience to become a member.

Vultures Row is a virtual squadron founded in 2002 that is made up of a group of fun-loving but dedicated flight sim enthusiasts. We take to the virtual skies in Rise of Flight and IL2 Cliffs of Dover. Current training is based in Rise of Flight. We have been flying in ROF since about October 2011 however our recruitment web page does not reflect this involvement yet.

Our main aim is to have fun as a team in a variety of online activities. Teamwork is essential in Vultures Row. We always work together to improve our flight skills and complete the mission at hand.

What you will find within Vultures Row;

* Members from North America and Europe, and we welcome everyone
* Flight training for fighters and bombers
* Our own TS server and Forum to facilitate communication
* We fly all types of planes, on either side
* Regular flying on “Full Real” dogfight servers
* Squadron held coop missions
* As of December 2012, most members have ROF, though fewer are active pilots at this time

Check out our public website at http://www.vulturesrow.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.vulturesrow.net for more info and media. There you can also find our Code of Conduct and the application form. All applicants must be 18 years of age and speak English.

As a new pilot you must at least take one of our training courses (bomber or fighter). However you are not restricted from flying with VR members while taking the training.

We hope you will consider VR as your squadron choice. Either way, see you in the virtual skies!
