This is also my first skin. Please don’t be afraid to give it the boot if it’s no good.
Even I think it’s a little unorthodox.
But I think its cool.

Since I had this problem myself, Im going to help you too.
to submit a skin, you have to take a screenshot from the right side at an angle, like so
You also need a .txt document to submit it. It will be something like this: (I borrowed another users ,txt for now, as I havent made a DFW skin yet)
"graphics\Skins\DFWC5\DFC5_.dds" "xxxxxxxx" "z Aircraft of_ " "Fictional skin for use by_ "
"graphics\Skins\DFWC5\DFC5_.dds" "xxxxxxxx" "z Avion de_ " "Peinture fiction utilisée par_ "
"graphics\Skins\DFWC5\DFC5_.dds" "xxxxxxxx" "z Flugzeug von_ " "Fiktiver Skin benutzt von_ "
"graphics\Skins\DFWC5\DFC5_.dds" "xxxxxxxx" "z С-т пилота_ " "Вымышленный скин. Автор:_ "
"graphics\Skins\DFWC5\DFC5_.dds" "xxxxxxxx" "z Avion de_ " "Esquema de colores usado por_ "
//Skin author name: _
//Skin author forum nickname: _
//Skin author contact e-mail:
//Skin historical background: Fictional skin for use by _
( _ = your name.)
Also, you need to use something besides the ROF website to upload your file, like mediafire.
and finally, this all needs to be in one zip file.

I'm sorry I forgot to add this. I'm new at uploading anything here.
However I am not capable of uploading my files elsewhere.
For one thing I cant get permision from my parents.
Does this mean I will be unable to post skins?

If you put it all together then post it on ROF I can try to upload it for you too.

It definitely will draw attention to yourself on the MP servers…
Thats the idea! The Red baron believed that camouflaging you aircraft and hiding from your enemy was shameful and dishonorable. That’s why he painted his plane bright red!
I’m 17. Yah its sad.
The skin was not intended to be garish. And again it’s a fictional skin.
I’m sorry the community dislikes this skin.
Thank you for the honest voting anyway.

Some things to point out for your next attempt (in addition to those already mentioned in other posts above):
1. Your .dds skin file is missing its alpha channel - that's why it shows no reflections or lighting effects and looks too dull/matte in finish, and normally that's a sign of something having gone wrong during the save process. You should probably re-check your save procedure against the How To guides linked to in the following thread (depending on which program you use to create your skins), to make sure you're using the correct settings/process for saving the .dds file:
STICKY THREAD COMPILATION - Useful Skinning-related Info
2. The white areas on your skin are too bright. The game really brightens up skins, so you need to make it look much darker in PhotoShop (or GIMP or whatever) than you would think, in order for it to look good in game. For whites, for example, it's generally better to start with a grayer white (maybe around 200, 200, 200) and then darken/desaturate to taste (I also usually add a layer of very dark brown over my whites, set to an opacity of about 15-20% or so).
Not that bad a start for a first effort - keep at it and I'm sure you'll turn out some skins that will pass muster.
