Hi Jason,

Great to see the drifters in the mods page!
Can you add SYN_Bandy to the credits? He has spent a lot of time on the textures and did a great job! Thanks!

Well done! Nice to see them on the mods page, too. I hope they will be added to the beta career mode as well. And the QMG!

Very nice video introduction Vander. The damage model is superb!
It makes everything so worthwhile to see it in action, and enjoyed by so many people. :S!:

Hi, I've got(and I know I'm not the only one) a little problem with the drifters, when the boat is about to be damaged (fire or explode) I have a CTD with an error message:

Can't load object
luascripts\worldobjects\explosions\detonations\woods.txt

Any idea? I installed it directly in ROF (without JSGME).

Thx! :S!:

Mmm known error and I thought I had fixed it! I'll create a new version and will ask Jason to upload. But it will take two weeks as I will be away.

But why not use JSGME? Should be much easier to replace the version when a new one has been uploaded?

Ok, thanks!

Well I use JSGME for other mods, but as your objects works mods off, I put them this way…

Just to be sure: Have you copied/pasted this?

Can't load object
luascripts\worldobjects\explosions\detonations\woods.txt

Or typed in in by hand?

Because there is no path mentioned ..\detonations\woods.tx
but there is a path ..\detonation\wood.txt

which I think is the culprit. It references a file by another object (from Difis I think).

Here is a hotfix that should correct the "missing wood.txt" problem.

Installation:

1. Using JSGME. Deactivate ShipsPackage1 in the JSGME mod manager. Download the hotfix and extract the zip in the JSGME package "ShipsPackage1". Active ShipsPackage1 in mod manager.

2. Direct copy: Simply unzip the files in the RoF\data directory. Be aware, that if you deactivate the mod with JSGME you will also loose the hotfix.

Attached File  ShipsPackage1_hotfix.zip   1.92KB   56 downloads

Je suis presque sûr que non, c'est uniquement Jason qui s'en occupe et apparemment il a autre chose à faire!

I don't think so. I have just returned from a holiday and have yet to contact Jason. Besides, he has been busy with other stuff as well :) . But I'll ask him today.

There is also an improved texture compared to the download package, but you might not be able to tell winging past at 120 mph, guns blazing…

Jason has updated the Ship package. This one should include the fixes and improvements!

At the risk of looking stupid (which doesn't bother me much at my age) where do I install this wonderful suite of ships? The instructions say to place it in the "MODS" folder inside RoF. I can not find anysuch folder. Is the MODS folder one that I create?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Edit to ask: Would the "MODS" folder be created by the JSGME utility?

I´d still like to bring up the question why we should not have a voting system (like for the skins) or other means of making some mods "official"..

I almost only play online, and that needs to be mods off.. so I don´t really get to see the beautiful boats and thats a shame!

(and really: there is NO reason why they should not be official)

Yep, install jsgme first as per instructions.

They work mods on or off though Zeebs, you just need to have the package installed. I have it installed and I can still fly online. I even managed to shoot an enemy machine down in a DH2, though I cannot guarantee that pilot skills will be enhanced by use. I have got a Channel Map mission based around drifters ready for testing, so hopefully you might see them in the near future.

You do need to use JSGME for the easiest install. Also, take care that the right folder is in the MODS folder, it needs to be called ShipsPackage1_v2. The ShipsPackage1_v2 folder should not appear in the main folder, only in the MODS folder. If it has appeared in the main folder delete both it and the JSGME config.

Thank you, Vander. Much appreciated.

Cheers

And thank you and Bandy for a beautiful addition to RoF. It would seem (to me, at least) that the Drifters might have had more utility in the war effort than the much prized Dreadnaughts (or "DreadNots" if you prefer).
