As a new owner of one of Sahaj's extensions I thought I'd give it a mini review.
I used to own a Warthog with a Metal'n'Wood extension. However while on holiday during 2012 I was laid off from work and returned to the UK totally penniless and looking for work. Because of this I needed to raise some cash and reluctantly sold my Warthog and extension.
It raised the cash I needed to keep me going until I got more work, but I have always regretted loosing that setup.
So this year I decided that I needed that setup again. There was a problem though, Metal'n'Wood had stopped producing his extensions.
I looked at another NZ producer of extensions, but didn't like the look of them, far too plastic looking. I didn't want a plastic/PVC extension. The Warthog is metal and I wanted something that would compliment that. Luckily I found this thread
It took roughly 2 weeks for the extension to get from Poland to the UK, but most of that was due to Sahaj waiting for components to make the cable. Once it was delivered though I soon realised the wait was worth it. As I have said I used to own a Metal'n'Wood and I though that was well engineered. Sahaj's extension is easily equal to that. It has a simplicity to but the actual finish is superb. What does stand out is the extension cable, the cause of the delay. The Metal'n'Wood used an adapted splitter and I've seen other posts describing how to modify a PS2 splitter. That is not a Sahaj's solution, no, he makes them from scratch. The cable is hand made using correct components. this sets it apart form other extensions.
The actual components
Fitting was easy, I removed the Grip and first fitted the cable then the actual extension over the top of that. The finish of the thread on the extension meant that it went on smooth as silk. I then plugged the cable into the grip and placed it on the extension with a slight offset of around 10 degrees. Because of the way the extension is made you can set the offset to whatever angle you want. The NZ extension I mentioned earlier is restricted to just square on or 20 degrees. I'm now in sim Nirvana. IMO Warthog is the best stick available to us off the shelf and the extension makes it even better.
Stick and extension in place
The extension means that the spring force is slightly reduced at the grip to a more comfortable strength. Also as the Warthog uses high definition sensors on the Axis and the increased movement means you have more control over your inputs. Fine adjustments are easy to make.
I throughly recommend Sahaj's extension. Well worth the very reasonable price asked. I know Sahaj has not posted prices on the net, but I can say it is a little less than what I paid Metal'n'Wood and comparable to the PVC looking NZ product.
Sahaj thank you Sir!
