Wow!

Is it correct to assume the following?:
- We won't get the cockpit mounted gun (shown in the sillouette)

The cockpit's open at the top as in this model. So I can't see why we wouldn't get the Lewis for the co-pilots seat.

http://www.helmo.gr/..._DI_NOISSES_PMT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.helmo.gr/...ery2/d/49137-1/ … OISSES_PMT

Thanks guys! It is confusing (the cockpit has so many panes - it looks like the plane is larger and more enclosed than it is)!

That a historical paint scheme?

In the images from 777? Nope, it is almost certainly a RNAS 'slap on a bit of dope and varnish, paint on some roundels, and send it out to hunt subs' scheme. Paint adds weight - which is probably why early RFC/RNAS aircraft tended only to be painted on the upper surfaces.

Sorry, bit puzzled by the "Nope" in your answer. This could have been seen in the natural wood-linen during the war?

I'm guessing, thenorm, but yes - natural varnished/doped wood-linen, with paint only used for roundels etc, seems to me to be quite believable. Paint adds weight, and it actually makes little difference to aircraft visibility most of the time. Fancy dazzle camouflage schemes may have been tried later, but they wouldn't have been the obvious first choice, I'd have thought.

Just because I can give multiple orgasms to the furniture just by sitting on it, doesn't mean that I'm not sick of this damn war: the blood, the noise, the endless poetry...
