after all the sea and land borne attempts, I think this balloon efforts also fall into this category, despite the debateabilty of the landing definition:

Either planes in BoS are flying panzers or the planes in IL2 were made of paper.
You rammed the Pe-2 so violently, yet not a single scratch!!!

I had a riot watching all these videos, so I thought I'd give it a shot myself. Not so easy! But I pulled this much off– and for added effect, I killed my engine before the dive and did my sport landing au naturel.

nice to see the sport landing society still up and running…

just some pointers for those who missed the new disziplines:

high AoA flying in 5% fuel planes
(B-Strutter,Brisfit,Breguet and especially the DVIII Fokker are highly recomended)

stubby-wing Felixstowe doublelanding
(once both engines fall off, the felix is a very fun gliding landing platform)

I'd prefer to consider it a "lunge" rather than a ram, lol. :S!:

main central western front map in quick mission builder, select "skirmish" near amiens.. many more nice seaplane bases also around in the western front, try all the qmb-skirmish startpoints. Lake map is also with the same style bases in QMB

you should have gone mach 1. The stuka (with wings) was limited to 600 km/h (in service) but she was tested with minor wing damage above 700 km/h. Without wings… you might break the sound barrier :D

No, I haven´t gotten the Ilya yet, but it is a very nice plane to land on… the Felixstowe actually looks good on top.

I´ve so far only made a quick vid with the gotha entanglements

I don't have a youtube account anyway, but I had a Record lost to a drive format of the following description. Maybe somebody will want to attempt, or maybe it is easy and passe.

Felix with all gunners, no bombs, light fuel.

1. At 1-1.5km or so, switch to top gunner, blast both your top wings at the midpoints until they are good and damaged.
2. Chop off one wing with the MG (I liked left wing), roll hard to the opposite side, tearing off the other wings without damaging engines.
3. Kill throttle immediately to avoid over-rev
4. right the Felix body without breaking the tail
5. you are now a flying boat, ease into the throttle to maintain a safe pitch speed.
6. land in a river.

I did it once with a nice smooth landing, no injuries to the crew, fully floating boat. Took a few tries.

Here is a youtube video I found while looking for anybody posting the river landing: Free Style Felixstowe Dancing

oh, the felix is well known for its stubby wings version… you can fly it yourself but also ride it:
