Yes, such a good job!
However, as much as I love the feel of a 'working aerodrome'.. (in IL2 I used to make missions with groundcrew, equipment, parked aircraft, vehicles and ambulances on the move around the perimiter etc) so I would love all our aerodromes to have that 'alive' feeling to them, but then there may be the problem of the performance hit if the maps get over populated.
I sincerely hope we find a way to make the game even more lifelike!

One idea, if possible, is to insert in the mission some ambient sounds (mechanics chatter, some aircraft engine noise, dog barking etc.) near the aerodrome. Even if the sources are not visible, it could add to the atmosphere.

Dogs are good, as you always see them in the photos, but don't forget roosters and cattle. Whenever I visit the old aerodrome locations in France and Belgium, I hear both. Remember, these places often were and still are in rural villages. And I've heard roosters throughout the day, not just at dawn–although I've never even been to an aerodrome at dawn. Frequent smell of manure, too, but fortunately you can't replicate that.

Wonderful work! :S!:

(Anyone have a "roller" to flatten the field at La Bellevue? Damn, that place is well named, it's driving me crazy … and checking the historical record, 11 Squadron doesn't get transferred out of there for another 7 months! I'm still in August 1917).

While Roucourt is on hold for some more 3D stuff getting finished (and it takes me forever) I started on another one where I can use what I learned till now. I already had some airfields in mind with maps and photographs and did some basic work on them when a few days back I saw a perfect aerial photograph of one of the fields I already worked on.
You know this one? Some 'early' war ;)
(texture is work in progress of course)

Thanks :)

Yes, you are right Vander. Its Lagnicourt, home for the Jasta 2 in late 1916.

But when, where and how will it be released?

I plan to release Lagnicourt as some kind of beta soon.
Beta, because textures are not final and autumn ones still have to be done. Also beta because of my tenthangars which are lacking collision & damagemodel now. They are just there for the looks at the moment  Right now I don't have the time to work on the 3D which is very timeconsuming for me…
A few minutes ago I was able to get Lagnicourt into PWGC beta2 replacing the default one and if you want you can fly Jasta 2 from September - December 1916 from this field. Still have to test AI take-off/ landing and such things. After that and abit more work on the texture I will upload it.

Edit: Some Screens also from working AI-Takeoff in PWCG

Astounding attention to detail. Thanks for making our favourite time machine even better. Very much looking forward to dowloading these soon ! I hope also that you may be thinking of some iconic entente fields too :-).

Cheers,

Hi Lfox & thank you.
You can download a first version in this thread:
Mod Aerodrome v0.1b
Not everything is finished yet though.
You need to run PWCG to see the airfields ingame. In future versions I maybe have the time to add some missions too ;)
