Well iven the SH3 wasnt so gr8 when relised but gr8 moding comunity including gwx team made it amezing game. And on Sh5 there is a gr8 peapol working to make it good as sh3 so i hope they will manage to pukk it tru. I know i hade a gr8 time playing Sh3 and i hope i will same good time playing sh5 wheb all the mods be there. If i remember corectly two gr8 moders r working on Sh5 privatter and darkwreth or somthing like theat, and Thomy099 . I dont remember there names corectly but i know they r working on same amezing stuff and allredy made same amezing mods for Sh5. So it only needs time just like sh3 to be a gr8 game.

No, not without a lot of file re-working.

I watched a stream with a guy who was playing SH4.. He had a mod on called trigger maru + playable surface ships..

Man it was cool he had the Yamamoto (i think thats how you spell it) and was making a run tp pearl Harbour.

I am really hanging out for a real BB Battleship sim and have an epic navel battle with some big hunks of iron throwing shells the size of VW bettles arcoss the waves..

A WW2 battleship sim would be very boring, you'd plod along for 3 years with nothing to shoot except seemingly empty beaches only to get blown into a million pieces by dive bombers one morning. That is assuming you were going for realism of course. I suppose WW1 could be more interesting.

Except that there was only one major naval battle in WW1, which ended in a stalemate.

Great Battles of the North Atlantic, back in the old 486 days was a lot of fun, at least when I ran it through my guitar amplifier. The lady in the apartment above me would get on the organ and play Lawrence Welk tunes,…. badly…. I would let her practice for an hour or more and then tilt up my 200 watt Yamaha amp and fire a broadside from the Tirpizt and shake the whole place and she would stop. There was another one.. Task Force??? that had some good DD battles around the Solomons. Wow that was a long time ago.

Well maybe a WW1 Naval sim with Subs, DD's, Cruisers and BB's involved would be more interesting. ;)

There would be enough intesting stuff for such a game:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Naval battles of World War I involving the United Kingdom
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle of the Falkland Islands
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle of Moon Sound

Hmm, perhaps you could call someone over and they can look down the periscope as you salute, or you could surface and get all the crew out on deck to salute your fallen adversary (as the destroyers come after you depth charges blazing)

Hello LordNeuro,
yes i know, i just wanted to show that the graphics of an unmodded SH5 are already very good :). Have been a member at Subsim for - wait - 17 years ? (b.t.w. this where my forum name comes from, initially)
But thanks for the link, maybe i should change my endless list of mods once more :S!:

Thanks and greetings,
Catfish

I played it once but wasn't satisfied at all. I don't like the goals (I remember that there was a goal to sink 100 000 tons) in 1940. This is way unhistorical and suits maybe the casual players, but I remember playing on the highest realism setting in SH3 and though I haven't sank this much in one year, it was much more, historical fun.

I honestly recommend everyone SH3 and 4 with good mods. This is much more fun than 5.

Man, that sounds really bad. IMHO - part 5 is bad, 'cause SH3 ( https://rawg.io/game...lent-hunter-iii ) is the best chapter of all series. U'all knows, for SH5 you should install too much mods for a lot of improves in game - and yes, it's working pretty bad at Linux. So all of you just check the third one - it's don't having such a big mistakes. Wrote me back if you will really play it. Hope you will check me message.

Lol - Is there a MAME version of that?  I might add it to the DiY Arcade Project I'm working on...    :icon_e_biggrin:

Cheers,
