There is also a later version of this same aircraft. This aircraft, Serial No. unknown, was depicted in an alternate 2012 profile by Pearson, based on information in Schlachtflieger! and in the Mirage 1/48 model kit. It was flown by Uffz. Fridolin Redenbach and Oblt. Sigmund Kreitmair (CO of Schusta 27b) while serving with Schusta 27b at Villers-au-Tertre aerodrome in Winter 1917-18. It had early Iron Cross markings on square white fields on the fuselage and tail, and a white "1" on the fuselage. This aircraft was originally finished in the early Halberstadt fashion, with undersurface lozenge fabric on the upper surfaces and a clear doped linen finish on the under surfaces. However, according to the alternate profile (based on the Mirage model kit instructions) it was fitted at some point with replacement wings finished in the later standard dark/light lozenge pattern fabric, and its "devil dog" symbol on the sides of the nose was painted (repainted?) red. [NOTE - I departed slightly from Pearson's alternate profile on this one - although the textual information indicated only that the wings had been replaced with new wings covered in the later lozenge style, the profile drawing appeared to show all the fabric surfaces as having been replaced/recovered. It seemed unlikely to me that they would necessarily replace all the fabric on the tail surfaces just because they had to replace the wings, so I've depicted this version as still having the earlier finish except for the replaced wings themselves.]
