Thanks! Yes, completely done by myself. Textures are mixed by photos, generated textures and hand-painting. I will post more, when I got some process :)

Ah! Well, that differs from your knowledge about 3d. If you already have some experience it is quite easy to learn, if you are new to 3d it is much harder than learning it in another program obviously. For most people, the interface is too complex at first sight, but if you get into it it makes really much sense and is pleasant to work with.
I really like blender because of a strong shortcut-workflow. I can almost modify my object in any way, only with a bit key pressing , of course thats also an addition to the learning-curve, but really handy.
However, if you want to learn it, there are really many (and free) resources to learn it - if you are interested I can send you a few links :)

Very nice, Picco. :)
Have in mind though, that the printed fabric is not valid for a Johannisthal D.III model…

Thank you for the reminder!
I didnt researched the colors yet (I am firstly doing an overlaying layer, so I can simply create various skin faster) - so the wing color is just a placeholder for the moment :)

Nah, you can print it on normal paper, cut it and glue it together, just like shown on Google images

I was a bit lazy this week. However, the texture is now historical accurate and more skins will probably follow. Only have to do the struts and the interior. Does anyone know where to find reference on the interior an gauges?

The image might load a bit longer, its an 360 animation ;)

Hi Picco nice model, is there any chance to make a low poly model so it could maybe be added to rof as a static plane on airfields. Just an idea.

Meh. What we have is a later production D.III manufactured by OAW. It had a more powerful engine and a larger rudder than the original Albatros D.III famous for Bloody April. It looks like Picco is making the classic Albatros D.III.

Thanks! That would be nice indeed, but I strongly doubt 777 would do that as someone stated earlier in this thread. Plus, they have very talented modelers I cant compete with ;) The model itself is not really high-poly, 12.000 vertices. As far as I know thats even about the number of vertices used for game-characters nowadays

I meant for mods on or iven if Pat would agree for his campainge generator. 777 is suporting mods for mods on, so if u could make in the rof format it could be used for mods on mod in game as a static plane. But i dont know is it posibol and maybe Vander could know it beter. Him self is working on same amezing things for rof
U cann check it here
