Finally, after not getting allowance for funds by the königl.-preuß. Luftstreitkräfte, we could persuade the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph I. to gift us a DFW C.V.

EDIT: Updated and fixed

Download link for .dds file

The caption on the fuselage says:
"Presented by
Franz Joseph I.
Emperor of Austria
King of Hungary
to the brave pilots
of the Royal Prussian
Jagstaffel 2"

And the text on the bottom wings says:
"Stay calm - form a line"

A big shout for ImPeRaToR for sharing his DFW camouflage scheme!

No, Sevtl, it is a piece of contemporary fabric used for a quick repair job. Would be a funny idea though to place a map around the compass!

Thanks, guys!

Thanks, DennydD, that's a famous quote of Austrian emperor Franz Joseph I., meaning "It's been a pleasure, I was quite delighted!"

I still think it would be much nicer without the table-cloth repair :P

Voted yes anyway, of course..

Good job on the skin, Wallenberg but the bed sheet has gotta go. Holding my vote.

Here's a suggestion. Why not have the airplane with dirt on it in the usual places, then where the patch is, instead of using bed sheet from the nearest brothel, you could paint a patch of standard aircraft linen the same colour as that area of wing but have it slightly brighter and without dirt to show that it was recently done.

Well, since I am not the only one flying it and already two of our Staffel rejected the design, I've updated it.

How come you know what the bedsheets look like in Pronville's brothel?

It's a very unclean place and the bed sheets actually have some weird stains on them.

Well that will kill the bed bugs and crabs but what about the stains that have been washed into the fabric? Bleach for coloured fabric?

The stains don't crawl and itch! And after a year in frontline etablissements that's about the luxury you can get…

I hope the DDT works on scabies too. Pretty sure I saw something crawling under one whore's skin while I was there.
