Look at the sortie log. Each hit which causes damage, and the damage percentage, is listed.

Fine, next time I will flame the Central pilot, so the Syndicate percentage damege stat gods can be happy…that is what Central pilots would do to me, right? :lol:

That probably depends on how quickly you can dive away.

Well, I went back on the Syndicate and got my kill, for the day. I damaged his machine, then I ripped his wings off, with some effort, mind you. He seemed to want them. He fell from about 10, 000 feet, over my lines, so I would tend to say that I will get credit… or gravity will get credit, one or the other. I really think that Vaal should consider my more humaine methodology, for accounting for kills, but until that time, I can play the bad guy go bye bye game, too. :lol:

I'm not going to change this logic. (btw is a condition in which you can get a kill with a small amount of damage.)
Statistics of the game is done in such a way that even a mediocre pilot could earn points and kills. This is fine for the official statistics. It's like a modern FPS games, you get rewards for each step.
I made an alternative statistic, which I consider optimal.

… and in my opinion it is a fantastic tool to look up many things a way better than the RoF one. I just wanted to point out some aspects or directions in which it could possibly go if technically doable because it can influence our flying behaviour to some degree. Some feedback for Vaal is important for him to furhter improve his stats.

Guys stop complaining about one kill like small kids in a sandbox, its still a game, behind our planes and bullets are numbers and figures that verify and gether what we do, there are no witnesses and ground crews etc. Newguy, just shoot better next time, aim for the pilot it is so easy to hit the pilot now and you will get your credit for the kill + this DVII could damge his engine in a dive, you overshot and the black smoke out of his engine was making you believe that you hit his engine, as simple as that.

I would rather like to hear/read from you what you think about the "away kills" idea and how to reduce camping behaviour on full realism servers.

If you are killed/captured or crash on Syndicate you only get 10% of your score for that sortie and I if you land at an active friendly airfield you get a bonus I believe.

I would generally agree with you, however, if a plane shoots up another, than the other trails smoke, makes its way down to ditch, then crashes, I find it hard to believe that anyone viewing such an occurance would come to any other conclusion than that the shooter, shot down the other. The logic of your system may generally be the lesser of two evils, when compared to the internal ROF system, but this is a case where the ROF system got it right and your system got it wrong. I can shoot down planes, by destroying the plane and pilot, but requiring that I rip the wings off of, or set fire to every plane, just seems a little sadistic.

When I went on the Syndicate, last night, I crippled a chap, his engine totally quit. I still did not have credit, even under the ROF system, so I proceded to shoot his machine, until his wings collapsed, then I got credit. I mean, why not when his engine totally failed? Was he going to glide attack me? :lol: He immediately quit the server. See, I don't have to worry about bringing planes down, Vaal. I can cut my engine, so they don't hear me, get in really close, under 100 meters, then pound them with a 50 meter convergence, or 75 meter convergence. I am not going to miss that shot, no one is going to miss that shot. I know the other plane is toast, too, Vaal. I am not worried about not getting kills. The problem is, how much of a D- bag do I have to be, to get credit for a kill? I think that there should be room for more humaine end kill confirmation results, and point rewards for chivalry. Shoooting a person to death, in a crippled machine, that can no longer help the pilot defend his self sounds more like a war crime, than anything else. :lol:

Example, I can get in much closer than I start firing in this video, by cutting my engine, but if I could damage this guy, then run the risk that he crashes, for a kill credit, I could spare his character's V-Life, and his kill streak, while getting the chance to have a kill, myself, if he crashes on his side of the line. Everyone wins, I should think… and I don't have to flame his machine, or rip his wings off…

P.S. Vaal, I think that your sytem is awesome, overall, so thank you for creating it. :S!: MJ

Vaal,

I want to thank you for the work you've done in creating the parser program. I have a request… and as an avid two-seater pilot myself I admit it is self serving, but I think it would be good for the community if it could be done. Would it be possible for your program to tally the AI gunner kills in a two seater as either full or partial kills to the two-seater's human pilot?

Why? Because right now the stats program "loses" hundreds of kills due to the fact that some bomber pilots actively jump into the back seats of their planes to fight. These kills not only don't go to the plane/pilot that shot them down, the parser doesn't even log for the one that got shot down how he was killed. He's just suddenly shot down and/or dead with no explanation in the log.

If it's a dedicated human gunner in the back - I think that's completely different and I definitely think their kills should be theirs and theirs alone.

But the AI gunners are different - they're literally a liability in the back seat. So, I believe pilots who can defend their own planes by switching to the rear seat deserve credit for their abilities and their achievements because otherwise two seater pilots who put in the extra work to learn to defend their own planes from the rear seats are not really accurately being tracked regarding their performance - especially considering how much more vulnerable they generally are to Ground Fire based on their missions and the fact that the current stat program will track show K/D, K/Sortie, etc. as "0" for these two seater pilots. Which screws up the very ratios measuring their performance that your stats program was designed to accurately track.

I appreciate your consideration of my request and would like to hear your thoughts on the issue.
:S!:

Regards,

J5_Matthias

An example of the mission and sortie possible (from circus or syndicate)? These kills must counting now, because the logs do not distinguish between the pilots and their ai-shooters.

I fly on the syndicate. The problem with finding you a good example is that very little data logs in the stats program to prove that a kill even took place. However I did find an example which I think will show you that the issue exists.

http://www.stats.syn...g/mission/1229/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn...g/mission/1229/

If you look at the chat and announcement log from the mission you'll see that the player 15.Span_Chajas entered the server and we said "hi!" to each other. Then a few minutes later I salute him. That's because I had just completely ripped his wing completely off with a 20mm cannon in the back of my DFW and he crashed.

But here is my log of that flight:
http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/173638/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/173638/

I basically spawned in, ran over the lines, got jumped by him after he entered the server, and then ran back home after killing him. This shows none of the damage I did to him, or the kill.

And here is his:
http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/173639/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/173639/

Which proves he shot at something that's not named (me) and damaged my plane before I destroyed his plane - but it doesn't record me as the source of his plane's damage though I know without a doubt I was the source. We were in perfectly level flight. He was on my six. and I pumped 14 rounds right into him before the wing came off. There was no dive or ack ack to blame.

See the problem? It doesn't record the kill or even the damage source because I was in the AI gunner spot as the pilot.

I'll try to post another example later. There are many in my logs, but as I said the problem is remembering and finding them.

UPDATE 2nd Example

I was escorting an RE8 Photo Recon flight run by J5_Von Hippel in a Bristol fighter. We were jumped first by AndyWest flying a Fokker DVIII and then in quick succession by 2 Fokkers DVII Fs Flown by J30-maddog2 and J30-Reinhardt.

http://www.stats.syn...g/mission/1244/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn...g/mission/1244/

On AndyWest's initial pass on us, I layed into him using the rear gun turret on the Bristol, giving him a fuel leak. VonHippel's rear gunner did not activate, therefore I know his AI gunner did not cause the leak. This leak later caused him to run out of fuel mid flight and I got a kill confirmation.

But here is the log of my flight.
http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/175569/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/175569/

And here is AnyWest's log of his flight.
http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/175574/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.stats.syn.../sortie/175574/

My damage to his plane is not recorded on either log, yet in chat he even acknowledged that I gave him the leak and caused the kill.

Here's a post of the chat log and the relevant discussion that followed

J5_Matthias:
who was in the D8 I shot up?
17.08.2012 21:21:29

AndyWest:
me I expect
17.08.2012 21:22:06

J5_Matthias:

17.08.2012 21:22:58

AndyWest:
fuel leak
17.08.2012 21:24:22 - NOTE: He said this right after the kill message came up on the server and I "s!" him

J5_Matthias:
another kill that won't count on the parser no biggie
17.08.2012 21:24:30

AndyWest:
I should be able to glide home anyway
17.08.2012 21:25:35

J5_Matthias:
well I could have made you explode in mid air and it still wouldn't count
17.08.2012 21:25:50

AndyWest:
why?
17.08.2012 21:25:53

J30_Reinhardt:
aye ive had that not credited to me before too mat
17.08.2012 21:25:57

J5_Matthias:
backseat gun gives no credit to a pilot. Only a dedicated gunner
17.08.2012 21:26:11

J30_Reinhardt:
ive blown up dudes with my rear gun and still didnt credit..

I hope I've given you what you needed. If not, then I will gladly meet you at the time of your choice in the Syndicate server to prove to you first hand via field test that pilot rear seat gun damage and resultant kills are not being recorded. (and also - if it's in dispute - that AI gunner kills are not credited to the pilot of their plane) - aka if I take up a Halberstadt and I only shoot with the front guns, if the AI gunner in the rear seat gets a kill that is not credited to me, the pilot.

Thanks again for looking into this Vaal,

J5_Matthias

Yes, there is a problem with the turrets. But in this situation, you still would not get the kill, because you have done only one damage - 0.005. This is not enough for my statistics.

Thanks for the report.

Hi all,

Thank you for putting this together but I have an issue. Right now I'm not at home and can be more detailed later. I run an Xampp install here at my home. The directions inside seemed to be ok until I got to the sections of adding lines and placing a file. I didn't seem to have enough info to complete this part of the install. After following the directions my Apache would not start. Had an error in the Apache log (I can copy that later too).

If I post examples of what lines I added ect can someone help me? The SQL database seems to work fine. I must have something configured wrong.

Thanks guys!

What encoding in the database? commonly used utf8. Work with other encodings I have not tested.

What's the requirement for the Server Stats to award a "Landed" status for a sortie?

Mine seem to register as "Crashed" or "Ditched" most of the time despite finishing the sortie in a flyable aircraft parked up on the airfield, what am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for the report
The logs are not updated field country information…
At the ctf circus all airfield default neutral, so is considered an emergency landing.
For the next version will alter the logic. I will use the areas.

How often do stats update? Is there a setting to update more often?

My stats are not updating in real time just seeing if I need to change a setting somewhere.

Thank you!

I ended tour 1 and started tour 2 and no stats for anything. Config issue seeing a log file maybe?

So all these other servers with stats pages post all info after tour is closed and the next started. I thought it would be realtime or updated in a set X minutes.

I got it now. The parcer was updating all the logs in the folder. I thought it was auto updating the same mission being flown every 60 seconds. Now it is just sitting for mission end. I think. :)

Yes, the parser works that way. Waiting for the end of the mission - and then processes the logs.
Processed logs - parser keeps in its directory.

I was playing about with the Le Prieur Rockets in the SPAD 7.C1 150hp the other day.

I notice the Server Stats are correctly accounting for"Rockets hits", but"Rockets fired" are incorrectly being shown as"Dropped bombs".

thx… So that is what it is。。呵呵

and another question, I wanna add our language for Server Stats, there have EN and RU setting in settings.py, I add as this:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LANGUAGE_CODE = 'en'
ugettext = lambda s: s
LANGUAGES = (
('en', ugettext('English')),
('ru', ugettext('Russian')),
('cn', ugettext('Chinese')),
)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

the "cn" icon show on homepage,but website work with mistake: en language can't display.

If I want keep back ru language, use 3 language select,which files I need change,edit where?
