These are my personal skins for PikAs53 and Aces of Spades. They are not very fancy concentrating only on personal Insignia and Squadron colors. Hope you like them. By the the way Ace of Spades and PikAs has the same meaning.

Very nice. One comment though…. the hand painted "h" on the fuselage in the middle picture really stands out. The lettering behind it that says "Pfalz DXII" looks like the edges are blurred to blend into the paint on the plane. Could you make the "h" more like that?

Cheers,
S!

First thanks to all.
One comment though,Adam. I took allready the advice when I posted the plane in Jasta2 forum, I take any critics serious. After some experiments I decided that I don't like it. Why? Well, the writing on the machine is either printed or stamped, so the edges would not be sharp. The personal markings are handdrawn by the pilots or the mechanics. So they would use brushes and paint as sharp as could be (at least I would do it, but I am a little perfectionist in these things), so the paints should look like the are carved out like cut with a knive. In Gimp I used the tool redraw lines etc. to blur, all the results were not like I expected. Finally I even zoomed in and removed most of the blur to have everything cristal clear. And this way I liked much better.
But this is personal taste. Or: PikAs and how he saws the world. :P
What I wanted to do was to add some traces of usage of the plane, scratches, repairs etc. But for this I am still in the experimental phase. If you have tips for this I will gladly accept this

As I did some Tank Models last year, you can see what I mean with sharp drawing and my attempt to be perfect and show some traces of usage. See here:

I noticed that although your .dds files appear to be the right size, there is no reflectivity on the surfaces of these skins in the viewer. This usually indicates some problem with the way you saved down or converted to the .dds file, often having something to do with not saving the alpha channel properly.

Actually, your other skins (PD3as) also display this problem. There are some threads in the general Skin discussion section of the forum about how to do this, depending upon which image program you're using to make your skins. (see here if you use GIMP: Dicta GIMP - your newbie guide to skinning or… (ENG/DEU) ; or here if you use Photoshop: Basics of the skinning.dds ).

I have extended your poll to give you more time to update your download file to fix this problem. Please do so before your poll closes (or, if it's going to take you more time than that, please edit your first post to extend the poll by a few days to give yourself more time).

Also, please note in your first post when you have updated the download file.

Thanks,

Panther
